In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Fog Light Harness in the 3.8L?

OK, i read your tutorial (google drive) - very informative, thank you.
So now i have a (crazy?) idea....

If i followed your steps but instead wired the (Stock) amber DRL (relay wire) into the LED strip, would that bring up the LED as DRL? And if so, in theory, when indicating (signaling), the amber will light and LED should turn off. (unless the drl signal is sent down the indicator wire...).

Am I off base here and/or missing something?? Thanks!
PS - this wouldn't address the fogs

The wire I actually tap in the the DRL strip not the amber bulb. So they only come on when the DRL strip is on(So Parking light and Headlight ON). This way they are on when the white 5k lights are on not when the amber one. This also gives me the ability to turn all light off instead of having it on 24/7 when the car is on.

I've read through this thread, and I'm having trouble sorting out the details from various people's different methods of installing/wiring. Could someone who has wired the OEM fogs to be always on without changing the stalk please clarify what exactly I need, and what needs to be done? I'm looking to do this as simply as possible.

-Fog lights (duh, eBay RPMTrade)
-Wiring harness? or can I just splice into existing wires - the orange and black wires people have mentioned - are these present on the 3.8 with Signature option package?
-Fog light connectors? if so which?

Thanks...

Ok so I've read through the threads about 3x now and I'm still not 100% curtain on what to purchase. I have the 3.8 AWD Ultimate and I'm not trying to cut any wires, can I simply purchase the fog light and plug them into the harness? Is the wiring harness different from the 5.0? Will I still need to change the stalk?

Please help!!!!

Currently there is nothing to plug the fog lights into in your car. You would have to buy the wiring harness, which replaces the existing harness on the bumper cover. Then things get a bit fuzzy. On my 3.8L AWD Ultimate the wiring for the fog lights was not present on the connector that the bumper cover harness plugs into. Currently I am trying to find out where the wires come from to see if it's possible to retrofit them. Some cars apparently do have those wires. If your car does then you would still need the Stalk replacement to turn them On/Off. Good Luck!

I have mine wired to ignition so they are always on whenever the car is on. No new stalk, no harness. The only drawback is I can't ever turn them off because I elected to not use a switch.

If you figure it out let me know... Because I'm not trying to cut any wires... I wondering if it's based on when you car was manufactured...

No issues so far?

None whatsoever. They function as drls in conjunction with the regular drls. Btw, I switched those orange bulbs to the piaa bulbs so now the fog lights and my regular drls are all the same color.

Those fog lights complement the front end so much.

Like you I'm in the middle of designing my fog light install and it looks like I also am missing those orange and black wires on the car side of the front bumper harness and would like to install the stock switch option so please keep us advised on what you find out.

I have downloaded the factory manuals for the 2015/16 sedans, but they are really lacking in the type of detailed information that used to be in service manuals especially on connector pin out and circuit diagram information. I can't even find where the regular lighting outputs originate from connector wise which would seem to be the same for the fog light wire origination. The two logical places would seem to be the Smart Junction Box in the passenger compartment or the BCM behind the glove box, but I haven't located the connector pin outs for those two modules.

I have developed and bench tested a wiring option so the foglights can be operated as either a reduced level DRL or full brightness fog lights completely independent of what the stock lighting is set for. However, this would not conform to my state inspection requirements and which I have included a wiring option to have my design comply with those I might opt to simple design a set of covers to use just for inspection purposes to simply things somewhat. At this point I haven't decided which final route I might take for the final install.

Just got a quote for all the needed parts so that you don't have to cut any wires...
$624 gets you the harness, fog lights, and the 5.0 stalk.... shipping is included... Do you all think this is a good deal?

Post a pic! I'd like to see...

Doing this from my phone so not sure it will work, but here's some pictures of what the front end looks like with fog lights constantly on and the orange drl bulbs switched to the PIAAs:

If it doesn't work I'll fix it later when I'm at home on my computer.

That sounds like a great deal if parts only... If it includes labor, I think it's a steal.

Looks great! Do your turn signal lights show white as DRLs and blink amber as turn signals? And could you explain or show a picture of how you ran the wiring to ignition?

Did anyone ever find out how to?

Yes

No

Maybe

depending on what your actual question is which is not clearly stated.

Ive seen a few Genesis Sedan with the DRL on, they must be 2016 models??

I did find that the harness sold had the curb sensor wiring reversed I would not purchase the harness the stalk was find when turned on the fog light display lights on dashboard . I found that the connector for the park sponsors located on the drivers side on the left side of the fog light has two orange wires and two black wires opposite of the orange wires for the right and left fog lights I tap into these for the fog lights. You can buy the fog light connectors from eBay too .way cheaper than the harness.

What does the connectors look like on eBay? I want to buy the correct thing. Also, do you have a picture of the wires u tapped into?

Has anyone actually put the fog lights in without wire cutting?

Any suggestions on a shop in Atlanta that has experience with this installation?
