  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a 2013 R Spec about a month ago. Since then I've been looking at upgrades etc.
All I could see on the site was that there were not any known tunes for this car.
Found a Website for a dyno-tuning company near me. They also have a ECU upgrade like BTR was.
I'll be getting my car tuned when all the restrictions lifted. Will post more info then.

I want the tune just for the launch control. That feature alone would be good enough for me to gain some great 0-60 times. Hopefully, it is available for the 2015+ 5.0 Genesis/G80 models.

I thought BTR/David Lee got out of the Genesis 5.0L tuning business?

They also make no mention of DH tuning...only pictures are of BH cars. And DH ECUs are different from BH which is why there haven't been tunes publicly released yet.

Best bet would be to contact them. Home page on website states they work on Kia's, Hyundai's and Genesis's.

It would be awesome if they offered this for the 4.6!

Looks like they were the Canadian Site for BTR in the past. Think David Lee is semi-retired.

The 4.6 tune is different from the 5.0 tune. But they say they do have a canned tune for the 4.6 on an OEM ECU.

I've contacted the folks there via email. Very nice folks. To do the ECU and TCU its $1750... this includes a new ECU & TCU

Has anyone already reached out to them inquiring about the 15'-16' 5.0s?

I'm about a 8 hour drive from them, but I have pto available and a whole lot of nothing to do.

its same as BTR TUNE . "We used to be affiliated with BTR USA, however we are no longer with them and have since made our own, separate tuning brand. For our tuning solutions, we have David Lee, the former tuner of BTR USA. The tuning itself will be similar.
As for launch control features, we can do it, but we do not provide that feature for automatic transmissions because of the risk and potential damage it causes."

Sounds good, but it's quite a lot of $$$

I'm down! What are the gains?

If the tune is for the 2015 5.0 engine, can you provide so information on it and a link to a website please.

They told me it would be about 25 WHP and 25 Torque gains. Depends on your mods. That was for resonator delete only. That being for a custom dyno tune. Not sure about the canned tune. Also raises redline to 7,000 rpm.

Only show first gen on website. You can contact them at info@10fintec.com . Website is www.10fintec.com
From what I have gathered on this website, nobody has cracked the ecu for 14-15 yet though. Never hurts to ask.

May want to review the older threads about the problems some owners had with the 5.0 BTR tunes and whether you can live with them for 25 hp gain at top end. Could be a mixed bag. But everyone has their own ideas of what may irritate them. Also for that gain, believe must use 93 Oct which may not be available in your area. No one has really broken the entire 5.0 code as they have done with BMWs, Audis, Stingers, etc. . BTR was good in that if you were not satisfied you could return the tune. I believe they stopped offering the 5.0 tune when returns started to rise. The 550 hp 5.0 Genesis display used in, I believe Sema a few years ago, gave all of us some hope, but could not run on the road and basically never heard from again. When LAP used my 5.0 as a test bed, they were pretty much only able to get at and alter the stock 5.0 air/fuel ratio that is extremely rich at the top end ( good if you want to use NOS 50-75 shot) and leaned it out, thus the 15-25hp gains at the upper limits. Gave up on it because they realized little demand from a few 5.0 owners that would spend the $$ and they could make much more $$$ on the V6 Stinger turbos & other 4 & V6 turbos whose codes they were able to really break and do a real full tune. May be once the company stops manufacturing the 5.0 and the warranty is not an issue, they might release the 5.0 's propriety coding. My thoughts.

Thanks for the input, always helps when questions are asked.

I believe the problems arose with the canned tune. I'm going for a custom tune on a dyno done by David Lee, that should be able to be a better fit for my particular car than a canned tune. That is my hope anyways.

They did not state the octane, just said pump gas, I'd presume that was 91 because not all stations have 93. Can use 93 if needed, already put it in my Camaro for the summer months. From the dyno chart they gave me, the gain is at the top end where they bump the redline to 7,000. The torque curve is higher and longer though.
The tcu tune offers more of what I want, but you need the ecu tune as well. Our cars seem to be more let down by the transmission than the engine when it comes to acceleration. "Let Down" does not mean it doesn't haul ass, just that it could do it a little bit better. Will see hopefully this summer, need covid restrictions to be lifted for the event to go through so keeping fingers crossed.

15-20 HP on a stock naturally aspirated (N/A )motor is about the most gains any N/A engine will receive just from a ECU tune I believe. N/A engine usually needs internal upgrades like aggressive camshafts and high-flowing heads to make larger power gains.

Turbo engines will always give more bang for the buck at the cost of being less reliable due the increased boost mapping with tunes. Just my opinion, since I do not know if the added boost tuning affects the 3.3T engine/drive-train long-term reliability. However, I bet that we will not see many tuned 3.3T engines run well after 100k miles on the odometer without some work on the engine and transmission.

it will be a while . We can only custom tune the Sedan's when our tuner is here in Toronto. Due to COVID, he's unable to enter the border. In the meantime we have been providing canned tunes.
