  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Free Map Update Is Here!!!!!!!

Pothole,

Thanks for the assist. Looks like only the lucky few who purchased a 2009 Genesis Sedan with a DIS Nav system between Sep 1, 2008 and Feb 28, 2009 will get the free NAV update. The rest of us are hosed...and we need to keep pestering HMA.

HYTECH must have a "dealer" account at www.hmaservice.com. The Select Car Care Promotion P06 notes that "A copy of the announcement bulletin and how to perform the promotion is available on HMAService.com Home Page under 'Service News'." Those of us with generic accounts can't see that section of the website.

Awesome! We are in business!

My local dealership is doing it on Friday.
Thanks OP

I fit into this window on my 2009 Genesis... but I can't find the info on the service site and my dealer thinks I am nuts...

Any information would be great!

Ok, in the TSB section I see 10-BE-004-2 DIS NAVIGATION SYSTEM MAP UPDATE PURCHASE

which states the dealer will charge 3 hours labor for the install, WOW!.. that isn't cheap...

Walleymn - another thread on this topic included the PDF. Not at my computer right now but if no one else responds, I can email it to you later.

thanks, weird I can't find this on HMAservice site...

I will send to my dealer..

I think you have to have a "Dealer" account to get to some of these things on hmaservice.com. We "mere mortals" just get the basic access stuff. Actually, I'm pretty impressed with what we do get access to, so I can't complain.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Got my 2009 Sedan updated today. Took 5 hours to load. Services rep said it was more than just navigation and he was right. You guys probably already know this but this added the ability to shuffle IPOD songs or albums, go back to where you start at the folder level when looking through your ipod songs, it definately did something to my shifting as take off seem to be a lot smoother than before I dropped it off (assuming that learning trans thingy got reset)... Nav seems faster. It reset all my contacts and radio stations. Anyone else notice any other differences?

I received a voice mail from my dealership with a ecm recall and a nav update.
My appointment is this Friday. I will let everyone know the outcome.
I am glad Hyundai is following through with their brand.

Took my car in today for the update. Thanks everyone... free map update is a nice treat...

I am happy but I wonder why the Feb cutoff? Why to late buyers of the 2009 sedan not get the update?

I'm not pleased that those of us who bought the first cars and probably paid more than those who bought later don't get the free updated map.

This is the kind of thing that really turns people off. Like cable companies giving a discount to new people and nothing to long time subscribers.

Taking my car in Friday for the update and to have them look at the cooled seat not getting as cold as it used to.

The rep from my dealer stated that the update only takes 45 minutes. According to Hyundai, the update takes around 3 hours.

I'm pretty sure Hyundai is correct stating 3 hours.

I don't see how it could take 45 minutes. there are 4 DVD to read..

Here is a weird one for you! I just called University Hyundai of Decatur and mentioned the free map update for my Genny and they said just bring it in and they will update it whether its on the list or not!

He said they get paid whether they charge you or not. They said they have the disc's and they will work on any of the Genny's!

He said there is no way to track who gets the updates...so he's giving it to anybody!

HA! I guess we will find out if this is true or not on Friday!

How cool is that!

It's definitely up to 3+ hours for the install per the TSB. 3 Disks at roughly 1 hour to 1.25 hours per, best bring a good book to read :)
