  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 LED vs Stock Turn & Reverse Lights

I want to try this but since it is not sold or fulfilled by Amazon, I'm hesitant.

Yeah man, do it! Would be unique having red turn signals. And if they're too bright, it looks like you could spray paint the clear 'bulb' that covers the LED's.

Either way, share what you end up doing!

So to be clear, I'm looking for 1156 LEDs that are CANBUS right?

Yes, 1156 for the turn signals. Technically they don't even need to be canbus compatible, they just need to have built-in resistors. Looking at the ones you posted they do mention having "Built-In Resistance", so I assume they'd work just fine, in addition to canbus integration.

Edit: @NLJ - In addition to the one you linked, here is another one that has what you need, but it also has a good heatsink design (which is beginning to seem like a useful feature on our cars). Quite a bit more expensive, though!

Yesterday afternoon I had the first error with my LASFIT bulbs. There were around 100 F and I remote started my car for 6 minutes, got into the car and almost inmediatly I had to stop in a red light waiting to turn left with the left turn light on, after almost 2 minutes I got an error sign on the dashboard showing that my left rear turn light had problems. A couple of miles ahead (around 5 minutes) I had to turn left again and the error in the dash disappeared. No problems after that. No doubt the error is heat /time related. Anyways LASFIT website warns about it.

Yep... same with me! First and only time so far that I've gotten the error with the hyperflash. I was turning left and sitting in traffic and the error popped up saying there was something wrong with my turning signal, then the error went away but the warning light remained on until I turned the car off. After a couple of hours at work, I got back in the car and no more error. Used the blinker all last night and this morning, no issues.

Haha, exact same thing happened with me too!! Haha. Remote started my car, was running for about 4 minutes, then almost immediately was waiting to turn at a stop light which took a very long time. Suddenly I got hyperflash, and an error message on the dash. Turned off the turn signal and drove for about 5 minutes, and tried again - no more hyperflash or errors and working totally normally.

Been in the low 90's here in Portland recently, my car had been sitting in the sun for a couple hours before remote starting it. Agreed that it's heat related.

Looks like there's a few of us with the same setup.

^ did my install yesterday. ~20 minutes or so all-in, i was pleasantly surprised how simple this was. The 4 nuts are easy enough to get at. I’d say this ranks at 1.5 / 5 for difficulty, with a 1 being an air filter change and 5 is a re+re of the engine...

Very happy with the result. Even the wife was impressed with the side-by-side comparo of LED against the regular bulbs. There’s no question LED is much classier and should have been OEM.

To anyone on the fence considering this ‘mod’: just do it. This really is a no-brainer upgrade to make.

Did mine tonight Oxilam bulbs. Works great. No hyperflash

I’m revising my statement. Stay away from the Oxilam bulbs
After 3 weeks started Hyper Flashing then one stopped working altogether.

Returned to to Amazon and ordered the Lasfit ones.

Three weeks in and outside the two issues I mentioned, it’s all good with the Lasfits

Well... they’re in! Took me an hour. I’m clearly just a mortal when it comes to auto electrical.

The hardest part was a) popping the assemblies out, and b) that one top screw. Screw that one top screw!

Regardless, I bought OP’s bulb recommendations and they’re freaking fantastic. The turn signals are bright as hell... I’m gonna see see if they’re “too bright” by having someone I know follow behind me.

Thanks, OP! Mod #2 is in the books!
What's your conclusion? I definitely think they are way too bright at night. I would hate to drive behind myself

Bright, yes... and well worth the price so far. Loving the reverse lights with the backup camera, as I back up my driveway and into my garage every night. The turn signals have yet to solicit high beam flashes from those behind me...

Was there a consensus of the preferable lights to get or what the majority got. In Canada if that changes anything

I think the concensus is that the lasfits are the highest quality.
We need videos :)

Many of us ordered these for the turn signals:
Cheaper and not as blinding as the Lasfit ones but still way brighter than stock. As for quality, I've had mine for months, and have had no issues with them.

What about backup lights

What's the difference between these two turn signal lights:
