  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

It not only has to do with how far. More importantly is whether you are crossing state lines. The myriad of laws and regulations between any two states governing the purchase, transit, title transfer, registration and taxes/fees is significant.
Being in VA...we have purchased cars in NC and even SC. For us it was seamless. We paid VA taxes...and DMV in VA went through no problem. I suppose we have a good State relationship and this happens a lot.

Good for you. My point is that this is not necessarily a simple process between all states and many buyers may not be willing to jump through all the regulatory hoops. Try bringing a car into California.

I live in CT. about 8 miles from MA and 8 miles from RI. I used to live in PA, about 5 miles from NJ and 15 from DE. Cars were sold across state lines every day. There may be some PITA states, but in general it would delay registration to tomorrow instead of today. You pay the tax to the state of registration. The dealers have runners that carry the documents and stand in line at the appropriate DMV.

OK, I'll concede California. Would be easier to register it in Moscow or Beijing I think.

If you want it in Moscow...fire off an email to trump...he'll get it done in 24 hours.

Its all relative. How far is far? Nearest Lexus, Mercedes, BMW dealer is an hour from me. Jaguar and Land Rover are 1 1/2 hours, Maserati is close to three hours. Ford, Chevy, Chrysler are less than 10 minutes. Genesis is either 20 or 60 minutes.

For me, none of them is a big deal but some people don't want to travel that far for anything.

Or at least not for an oil change.

Think I saw a post where an Illinois dealer was ready to go? In any case, a handful is going to be spread really, really thin across the US.
Yes, I had posted that earlier today. My dealer said they just signed all the contracts and will be a separate Genesis dealership. This was conveyed via a voice mail in response to an e-mail I sent yesterday. I will need to give him a call to get the complete details. At my dealership I have the personal cell phone numbers for both their Genesis specialist and the Genesis service manager. they have treated me very well since I purchased my G80.

It also doesn't hurt that the Genesis service manager lives one street over from me. She has treated me extra nice since finding out we are neighbors.

Geez, your minds are in the gutter.

I agree with you. But in order to be considered on par with BMW and MB and Audi, they need to make changes like that.
I don't see them going to that level though. Yeah, it's nice to bring your Audi to the fancy dealer until you get hit with $160 per hour shop rates. I'd rather see something more reasonable with less amenities.

The G70 is only in my mind...so everything else might as well be as well. Haha. I need a drink.
I toast you with a Zacapa rum.

If you want it done really quick get ahold of Hillary, after the Uranium one deal no has better Russian connections than her.
It was a freaking joke dude...don’t get all defensive and defend your supreme leader. Remember who’s the president...trump not Hillary.
