  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

An update for Genesis of Bend, OR. Was told by a sales rep that they expect to be getting the G70 in stock by Friday the 21st - just in time for Christmas. No word on trims or colors yet.

I think I'll get in touch with Genesis of Vancouver next.

You're awesome! Thank you!

I keep seeing reviews on YouTube, which in general are all very positive...but there are still very few cars around. I wonder how long it take to actually get inventory flowing to dealers and more cars on the road. Summer or Fall 2019?

This is purely a guess but I think the inventory levels we are seeing at dealers now will more or less be the same when the dealer network is completely flushed out (we are at 22 states now and should be close to 30 very soon). After the initial allocation we are seeing some of them getting more in.

A lot probably has to do with sales, if they aren't selling they will probably be hesitant to get more. While it is difficult to tell I would still say that the car is selling in quantities way below expectations. We have heard from a number of dealers who had stock for awhile and hadn't sold any. Maybe once there is wider availability there will be a bigger marketing push and sales will increase accordingly. Then again, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and could have no clue as to what I'm talking about.

I wonder if there will be too many dealers initially. If they don't have stock they can't sell cars either. My guess is, once the dealer network is fairly well setup, advertising will get heavier. People still don't know Genesis exists.

We should get together at the Holiday Inn Express and discuss this in depth.

By time this Genesis G70 gets into all dealers, we are likely to be in 2nd quarter 2019. That's almost a year from what was supposed to be the original launch date. To me, this points to larger corporate issues, and based on the increasing noise about the Hyundai/Kia engine fires, and the manufacturer's response (or lack thereof) to that, and the delayed response to meet the needs of the SUV/Crossover buying public, I am leery of buying anything created by this company. This is too bad because they made such great strides in building a primo reputation and they have managed to sully it themselves. I wish you all the very best, but I am moving on to consider other manufacturers.

I've had similar feelings, the G70 is an amazing car but with how poorly they did the launch for both the car and the brand has me worried. Good news if you lease you can always just walk away at the end regardless but it is worrisome especially with the prices they are currently asking

I already did.

How any company could screw up a launch, (compared to other companies) I just don't know.

Have the rules changed for Genesis?

How did other companys do it?
Some still around. Some not.

Infiniti
Lexus
Ram
Saturn
Hummer
Hyundai
Kia
Acura
Sterling (Rover)
Alfa Romeo
Fiat
Peugeot
Renault
Lada
DeLaurian (sp)
Bricklin (sp)

The above all within the last 30-35 years.

Going back further, there was
Honda and Toyota. Started out from nothing.

It looks like Genesis only sold 133 cars in Canada for November. That's vs 10,201 Hyundais for the same month. I'm surprised by that low figure.

That looks to be about average for the year. August was their high with 185. Don't know what their expectations are for Canada. It could be they never expected to sell many ad that is why they went with the boutiques rather than all dealerships.

Canada ia 1/10 of the US market. And the boutiques are only in affluent areas or bigger cities.
They are keeping it exclusive for a reason.
In Ontario alone there are only 6 that I can think of and it is mostly because there is a distance limit to their 5 years of valet and concierge service.

Even though they sold more than the 128 G70s sold by Genesis USA. These numbers look awful.

I thought the boutique thing was their starting point. Meaning...they will remain...but there WILL be Genesis dealerships popping up. No?

Maybe eventually when they have a bigger lineup. But currently they are all tied to Hyundai dealership owners that have the best reputation compared to the rest.
Genesis Mississauga is inside a mall. I'm outside the 50km radius for valet and concierge service but was guaranteed it anyway.
I think they won't build them in the same lot as the Hyundai dealerships. When I dropped in to Hyundai, they told me to get in touch with Genesis to book a test drive and that none of them were trained on Genesis and could not help me even though they were selling demo and used G80 and G90s.
So as of now they are running a tight ship and don't want to be associated. Heck even when I wanted my winter wheels done, they were gonna pick up my vehicle and do it for me but the date didn't work out for me. I insisted on coming in ASAP and they squeeze me in.

You Can Buy A New Audi RS 7 With An $18,500 Discount Right Now
NOV 9 BY JAY TRAUGOTT SALES
Embrace the holiday season.
The second generation Audi A7 was revealed exactly one year ago. The all-new RS 7 will arrive sometime in the coming months. But before that happens, Audi dealerships need to clear out some stock and one of the best methods for doing so is to offer discounts. According to Cars Direct, through November 30, Audi dealerships are offering a form of dealer cash called a Marketing Allowance in order to sweeten some discounted prices on select models. Which models, specifically?
Try the 2018 A6 and A7, both of which are eligible for up to a $10,000 discount. Heck, the S6 and S7 are being discounted by as much as $15,000. So let’s put this into some perspective: a 2018 A6 carries an MSRP of $50,675, including destination, and that price can climb as high as nearly $73,000 for the S6.

2018 s6 $80,600 - minus $20,000 negotiated price = tired of waiting for genesis to sort out dealer issues on long island. i did enjoy my car while i had it, but there are always other options......

This is almost a month past Nov 30...why would you even post this? Unless it's still going of course.

Still not sure what an A/S6 or an A/S7 has to do with the G70.

Good news. As @TurtleBoy anounced a couple of days ago, now Genesismotor webpage is showing many Florida dealers. Seems that a lot of dealers got approved for selling 2019 MY, just at 50 miles radius from home I have 8 Genesis dealers. No allocated cars at the moment but that's a good start.
