  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Thanks for the info.

Oddly, Palm Springs Hyundai still shows the car.

I contacted them and they told me: “...the 2019 Genesis that you saw on our website is the only one that we currently have available. We do have the ability to either regionally locate or order exactly what you're looking for...”

Well, as Beefer says, “stay tuned.”

That is odd but it could be how you are looking at the inventory, looks like maybe using an app or phone. The Genesis cars should not show on the Hyundai website. When you go under New Inventory there is a link to look at the Genesius vehicles and that automatically takes you to the Genesis Palm Springs website.

I'm going to say that that either the person you talked to has no clue or else they are trying something to get people to contact them and maybe build some sales leads. That car is still being shown on the AZ website, I would imagine it would have been removed if it really belonged to the CA dealer. Could be they are borrowing it just to get people to come in and look but they can't sell it right now.

Wonder what Genesis America has to think about this unauthorized approach?

Remember one of the dealers in your state did something similar and then all of a sudden the inventory was gone. Took a bit before they were licensed/approved and then they got real inventory.

What is odd in this case is that a Genesis vehicle is showing on a Hyundai's inventory. It could just be that method because this afternoon when I looked it was on their Genesis website as that is where the link goes. My understanding is that dealers are not allowed to show Genesis vehicles in the Hyundai inventory and they must be shown on a separate Genesis site. Then again, there are still some Genesis dealers operating without a website.

Maybe CA is real close and they are trying to get a jump on the competition, as soon as I see anything I will post.

Nebraska gets cars before Colorado, jeez. theres prob 5 times more people just in the front range cities than in all of nebraska.

Unfortunately, I’m a couple hours away from Palm Springs or else I’d drive over there and see if they really have the car.

One thing I won’t do is ask a dealer to “find” me the car I want. That’s putting them in the driver’s seat (npi) and giving them the power over you. I’ve tried it and it never works out, unless the same dealer owns 1-2 close by locations, because then, it’s basically the same dealer.

Nice! There’s hope! Honestly, as ignorant as it sounds, I was trying to figure out what’s involved with buying out of state and bringing it back to Cali for registration.

this is possible... I spoke with a dealer a day or 2 ago, sd they can transport, I would have to pay their state taxes and approx $1 pr mile. But I'm sure if you talk them down some may eat that transport cost.
I'm waiting it out until the end of month for a dealer less than 3hrs drive before I look into the transport route.

So, I ended up going to Genesis of Vancouver, Washington a bit early. They have 2 G70's in stock, both 2.0's, one black Elite and a blue Prestige. Had a really good experience! The salesman was a cool guy and he let me test drive the Prestige. I'll post more info+pics in the G70 reviews page... Long story short, it was fantastic - and it was only the 2.0.

Definitely recommend Genesis of Vancouver to anybody in this area. They've got a good facility and excellent staff members. So far they're the only official Genesis dealer on the west coast with G70's in stock. But, hopefully not for long!

^ That is great to hear. Did you ask them if there would be any problem with valet maintenance service being you are out of state?

wouldn't you be allowed to utilize valet service at your local dealer when it eventually opens? or is that intended to be tied to the dealer where purchased?

Yup, he said that it is all just about distance. Even though I'm in Portland and the dealership is in Vancouver (OR vs WA) they would still do the valet service. He couldn't remember the exact mileage, but he said he thought it was something like no more than 50-75 miles. I'm approx 30 miles from the dealership, he said it's within range. He also told me that if I ended moving somewhere else, the valet service could be applied to whatever the closest dealership is (as long as it's within range).

Pretty cool.

From what he told me it sounds like the former.

Makes sense. I think folks are making a lot of unwarranted assumptions about valet service. It makes no difference what state you or the Genesis dealer are in or if you are if different states or what Genesis dealer you bought the car from. As long as you are within the valet distance of a Genesis dealer they should honor the valet service.

The valet distance is 50 miles.

But you can go futher if the dealer approves. When I got mine...dealers in Richmond were not around yet. Alexandria (100 miles) said they would accommodate me until the dealer thing settles down. Awesome. I now have a dealer locally.

Next...if you will never have a dealer within 50 miles...Corporate steps in. They will cover the cost to the closest dealer...but it could take 2 or 3 times longer. Which is reasonable...still free...and still a free loaner.

You can use valet service at any dealer within the distance area but in this case it is across state lines. In a case we discussed here a few months ago the dealer's insurance would not allow a loaner vehicle to be taken across state lines. I was just wondering if there was any issue here.

Any word on Pennsylvania? How dare Jersey beat us by 4 months!

My home state. :). Nothing at all that I have seen. I haven't done any searching of the state license database in awhile so maybe some dealers have at least been licensed but don't know.
