  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I tried the find my car feature from the application and I got the following silly message :

"Your vehicle is out of 1 mile range. You must be within 1 mile radius to locate vehicle"

Doesn't this feature seem silly?? I can find my car if I'm sat in my house and the car is outside... But not if my wife has taken it over a mile from my phone

Anyone else tested this?

Dave

I haven't used this feature. Is it possible that it's intended use is finding your car in the parking lot when you can't remember where it was parked rather than tracking it down for theft or spouse location? It seems that I recall there is a separate Bluelink option for using location on a wider scale, but I could be waaaaaay off base on that one.

Flyswatter is right it’s only meant for checking parking and valet parking (making sure car isn’t out). I have not seen the option for a far a reaching search but do remember reading it was available to the police in case of a stolen vehicle. I think a call into Bluelink would be initialed in that case.

Thanks guys, you are probably right, guess I'll have to use the find my friends to locate the wife ;-)
