  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good read

Nice - and more to suggest no major updates beyond rebadging for the G80. The G70 sounds to be more performance oriented - Hyundai execs said they were excited about the performance of the G70 and that there would be more info at the NYC show in March!

BTW - the G1 guys won't like this quote ;) :

"The Genesis name was first scrawled upon an affordable yet mediocre sedan"

My car only has to impress me, the G2 impresses me too, I don't give a %@it what Lawrence Ulrich has to say.

Lol I agree with respect to the G1 guys!

You're right!

Indeed, but let's not forget the rest of it;):

'...that nevertheless brought Hyundai attention and dawning respect'

They also threw in a cheap shot (and not very accurate IMO) of a statement at the Equus: 'The first-generation Equus was a generic, self-conscious clone of the Lexus LS460'

Having sat in both I just can't agree with that. There are definitely similarities (which is inevitable at that class) but a 'clone'. Nah.

well...to be fair neither the G1 Genesis or Equus were very original cars
and I own an Equus and I do they sat around and tried to "Xerox" and Lexus LS

However...I think one has to consider the price differences and understand what value Hyundai brings to the table to keep it in perspective

Other luxury brands and jounralists said the same about Lexus 25 years ago and through innovation and quality they've taken over. its safe to say Genesis cant simply be overlooked, especially in todays market.

Are you saying that Lexus didn't Xerox Benz and Bimmer?
