Genesis Car Dealerships (Freestanding)

Not sure if anyone has posted it, but the Kansas City area has a "Genesis of KC" again after Randy Reed bailed out a few years ago. It looks like they just opened this past week give or take. It is in the suburbs in Overland Park, KS, which is the second biggest city on the Kansas side, and a very small standalone that was the small Premiere Mazda dealership after they took the main Mazda lot across the street and turned it into a Volvo franchise. Not sure if it is temporary, but it doesn't seem like the type of property they would have. It shows up on the Genesis lookup, but when you click inventory, it does not pull anything up. There are about ten cars outside at the moment.

If you can confirm that it's a full sales & service dedicated Genesis facility, it can be added to the list.

How are you dealing on your list with companies like the one I use? Genesis of Scottsdale.

It has its showroom and sales functions in a high end mall and it is building a separate service facility a few miles away on the premises of the Hyundai store.

So it is sort of free standing but in two separate building a few miles apart.

Went by today to talk with them. They officially open this Wednesday on May 1st, 2024. It is a freestanding building for sales and service. For the locals, their plan is to have a larger complex next to I-35 on the Frontage Road area property in approximately two years. They are part of the Walser Automotive Group, who have a presence in Minnesota and the Wichita area.

Technically on the outskirts of Portland OR., in what is considered Beaverton where other luxury dealerships are located. It’s within 3 miles of Beaverton Hyundai and 4 miles from Nike headquarters. They’ve taken over an existing dealership (Alfa-Romeo?) and will need extensive remodeling to bring it up to any decent standards for a new dealership. Prior to this, the only Genesis dealership in the area was across the river in Vancouver WA, which shares a building/sales/service with Hyundai.

To anyone in the Austin / Round Rock area, Genesis of Round Rock is apparently opening their new facility July 1st.

That’s my dealership. Last I had spoken with Andy, my service manager, he told me they were breaking ground on the standalone location. Good to see they have an opening date. Hopefully it’ll alleviate the long wait times to get a service appointment. I have to be there in a few days for service so I’ll check it out.

Andy said they still have a 3 month backlog when I went to get them to order rear door panel replacements.

Not certain yet, though Andy, the Genesis service manager did say to me a while back that it would be separate. I’ll find out for sure when I bring my car in, but if someone else finds out, post it up. As of right now, Hyundai and Genesis are serviced out of the same facility. Hopefully that will change when the new place opens up.

Just confirmed on the phone. Genesis of Kirkland is a stand-alone dealership. They're in a small "temporary" facility right now that includes a service department. A permanent home (it will also be stand-alone Genesis) is expected in 6 months or so.
 
Wish we could get one in North Dallas. I was told by my salesman that Genesis of Plano (North Dallas suburb) was building a dedicated facility but that was a couple years ago. Nothing so far. Maybe COVID got in the way.
