  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Connected Services

Can someone give an update on what the Canadian app can do. From what I gather it can start the engine, lock/unlock doors, and set heating/cooling temperature. Is this correct?

Can you find your car on a map such as when I'm in a parking lot?

There are 3 function on the main screen:
Vehicle Health, Remote Services and Find my car.
Under Remote services, you have these:

And when starting your car you have the following options (and you can save several favorites):
20673

And the vehicle status button on the top right gives the following info (this was an update at some point last year):
20672

I don’t think that is true. I just completely shut off location services and the app loaded just fine. Try deleting and reloading the app. It was recently updated.

I notice in the new mobile version at least on iOS there is a rewritten schedule service module called Car Care Scheduling Experience (or something like that). No online valet scheduling which never worked anyway.

Thanks. How does Find my car work? Does it just blast your horn and turn on your lights or does it actually position it on a map?

Thanks. It may not be as feature-filled as the US version but this is enough for me. Heck its more than anything I ever had before. All the essentials seem to be there.

I wish the US version showed miles to empty like the Canadian one does.

One more question about the Canadian app: does it have a widget?

That would actually be a great update. If that vehicle status screen was a widget it would be sweet!

True. But the only issue I see with it is that the engine can be started accidently or by a child playing with a phone and the car is in the garage.

I am talking about just the vehicle status screen. And even if there was a start button, you have to enter a pin to start or use any of the remote services so it wouldn't be an issue.

^ I'm pretty sure I read that the new Genesis models are 4G since the 3G network will be disappearing soon.

There was also a post I will try to find that talked about the remote commands and how they work. For both battery and network efficiency, the cars don't poll the sever but rather receive the remote command similar to getting a text message. Makes sense so this way thousands of cars aren't constantly sending messages to the servers but rather just sitting in wait mode to receive a command.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have two Genesis Connect accounts on the same car? The wife wants it on here phone also.

^ just use the same credentials. Why do you need a different account?

That didn't seem to work.
I think you can add a second driver via website and she will be able to use another credentials. I did it with my 2016 Genesis. I need to check if we can do that with our G70.

Edit: Yes, you can
SECONDARY DRIVERS
As the primary Connected Services subscriber, you can invite a secondary driver to create their own MyGenesis account without sharing your username or PIN. You can control what features and notifications can be accessed by your secondary driver(s), and they can set their own personal preferences.

If you find the link to do this please share, I have not found the link for this service.

Found it, My Account/My vehicle/driver information/secondary driver.

That didn't seem to work.

I have used the same credentials on two different devices at the same time (iPhone and iPad ). No problem.
