  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Free NACS Adapter Thread: Post Your Updates

I got 2 different dates after corresponding with them 2x. One said 6/20/25 and one said 6/30/25.

"Thank you for contacting Genesis Customer Care in regard to the complimentary NACS adapter redemption.

At this time, your redemption email is still in the process of being sent. We ask that you go to your MyGenesis account and ensure you are opted in for Email Communication by June 20, 2025 at 5pm PST. Without this preference selected, you will not get the email. Please keep an eye out for an email sent to the address linked to your MyGenesis account with the subject line: “A Gift from Genesis: DC FAST CHARGING ADAPTER.” We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to distribute these communications.

If you are unsure how to update your preferences in MyGenesis, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Once you log in to your MyGenesis account, click "My Account" from the top menu options.
Step 2: Click the "My Preferences" tab.
Step 3: Under the "Communication Preferences" section, click on "Edit" to update varying levels of communication preferences. Please make sure "Email" is selected and "Unsubscribe from All Communications" is unchecked.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact us at the phone number listed below and reference case number XXXXXXXX.

Thank you for being a valued member of our Genesis family.

Respectfully,

Genesis Customer Care"

I then e-mailed to have them confirm that my settings were already correct and they said this:

"Thank you for contacting Genesis Customer Care in regard to the complimentary NACS adapter redemption.

We have reviewed your account and determined that you have opted in for email communications. At this time, your redemption email is still in the process of being sent.

We’re happy to share that all eligible Genesis owners who did not receive their redemption email by May 31st will be receiving it by end of June 30th. Rest assured, our team is diligently working to ensure all remaining emails are sent out as quickly as possible.
We kindly ask for your continued patience, and we’re confident this final batch of communications will provide the information you need to complete your redemption process.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact us at the phone number listed below and reference case number XXXXXXXX.

Thank you for being a valued member of our Genesis family.
Still nothing for me. At least there's only 6 more days to wait? :D

They told me "by end of day June 30th" and at this point I'm deeply suspicious I will hear from them at all - but I'm not holding my breath that if I do it will be before end of day on June 30th...

Has anyone got tracking after the order processed email? It has been over a week for me, and no tracking yet.
Yep.. no tracking for me either, nothing in USPS informed delivery :/

Still no email for me, I called CS to request status (I originally contacted Genesis CS before the end of May and obtained a case number). While the CS person was very nice/professional, she couldn't do much to help other than confirm all of our information in the Genesis system is correct. I told her I was concerned that the end of June was going to be here very soon, and she said that since I contacted them and had a case number I did not need to be concerned about the end of June deadline as "I'm already in their system".

This is a joke. This June 30 "deadline" will pass, like the May 31 "deadline" before it and it will become a July 31 "deadline".
How can a company as massive as Hyundai/Genesis completely screw up a freebie promotion so badly. This is not brain surgery. This is a giveaway to customers whose contact information is already in the hands of the company. How can they not have simple answers, like what determined the prioritization of the emails? Was it date purchased? Was it based on address? Was it based on whether or not the customer also had a Genesis Finance account? Or something else entirely. I guess we will never know because no-one at Genesis Customer Care can answer that question.
There will be those who say it isn't important and why are people getting bent of shape, but it is another symptom in the general malaise of Genesis and their inability to interact in good faith with their customers. This is what kills brands over time - continuous disappointment .
I wonder if anyone at Genesis HQ is even aware of this clusterfuck.

This is a joke. This June 30 "deadline" will pass,

Our email arrived today.

I followed the link to update the shipping address and should have shipping confirmation soon.

Color me surprised.

Had the exact same experience with my call just now...

How long did it take from the confirmation email until the adapter arrived?

Friday June 27 11.00 am PDT Update.
My "Customer Care Representative" (what joke to give them that title) is not available this morning. I elected to be transferred to another agent, who offered ever so kindly to leave a message with my designated rep with a reply within 24 hours. I guess that is Genesis internal code for NEVER. Hahaha.
When questioned about the status of my case, he could offer absolutely nothing. What a lame response. I'm not surprised at this point.
This has to be a B school case study on how to alienate customers - offer them something valuable for free and then simply ghost them.
I'm not holding my breath for an email or a response or literally anything from Genesis at this point.

So I guess this is what the fuss is all about - $120!
Genesis should just give everyone a $120 credit and share the Amazon link for this product. Much easier than pissing off everyone with their incompetence

Personally, I would never use one of those bargain-basement adapters unless it comes with a certification (like UL) or a specific manufacturer approval. The prospect of something going wrong (e.g. just the slightest bit of resistance) with 100-200kW flowing through it scares me.

Couldn't agree more.

Also, Tesla prohibits the use of 3rd party adapters not certified and provided by OEMs. This is the reason I purchased the Ford adapter since it went through rigorous design and testing and Ford was the first to get access.

If something happens while you are using a non OEM adapter, you will likely be held responsible for all damages and would probably void any warranty coverage.

Use at your own risk.

  1. NACS Superchargers, which will become available gradually, by vehicle manufacturer, and can be accessed through an adapter. The adapter has to be provided by your vehicle manufacturer. For new vehicles that are NACS-equipped, no adapter will be necessary.

Just dropped in here to see what the community was saying about status of these adapters from Genesis. Glad I'm not the only one who still hasn't heard a peep from Genesis.

The only two non-OEM adapters you should be considering are those by A2Z and Lectron. All others, whether by Lenz (screenshot above) or whomever, are absolutely unproven and CAN damage your car (pedantic EE details omitted). Frankly, it's garbage adapters like that that give EV charging a bad name (see also: "cheap scooters in NYC"). Officially you are still taking a warranty risk, because those two are not OEM adapters, but they have already been through the ringer in the market, have already been heavily tested and revised, and are the only two I recommend. In fact, it's possible that the Genesis adapter will be a rebranded unit from one of those two suppliers; that's exactly what Ford did with Lectron.

Do you recall what the time span between the confirmation email and delivery was? Did they ever notify of shipping/tracking or just USPS? Thx

It’s about 10 business days.

6/20/25 first email for gift. 6/23/25 confirmation email that address was good. I looked up USPS.

I'm curious if the free adapter I received will work with my son's home Tesla charger?? Or is it only for usage with the Super Chargers? Also, has anyone actually used it on a Supercharger and if so how many kW did you experience?

I asked this earlier, seems like this is for superchargers only, need another adapter for home/destination chargers

Where does the adapter ship from? I have some mystery packages coming from USPS but not sure if any of them are the adapter. I have not gotten another email with the tracking number sadly :/
