  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis G70 Reviews

Basically that. The launch control isn't super aggressive, so in warm weather the combination of AWD grip and ultra-sticky tires bogs the car down off the line. Anecdotally, I've found the AWD G70 launches much harder when it's colder out or the road is slightly wet, as the car is able to break traction and spin up the rear tires a bit. This in turn enables the car to build boost faster and prevents bogging. I'm willing to bet good money that if a buff book tests the AWD car on a colder day (~10-15C / 50F-59F) rather than warm California conditions, you'd see a better result than what we have to date.
We don't see specific parameters for Launch Control but Sports is max 10:90 so only 10% is going to front of that is what Launch Control is using. However Sports can also do 50:50 as well.

Doesn't matter what mode the car is in, it always comes off the line 50/50 and then shifts torque to the rear as speeds increase.

On the Road With the 2019 Genesis G70

Edit: I regret posting this. The article maybe has 4 sentences about the car, mostly mentioning features we all know about, and the rest is just talking about a road trip. I trusted it would be good because it's Car and Driver, but it's almost nothing about the car. How was the comfort on the road trip? Was there enough passenger and storage space? How was gas mileage? You know, actual car related considerations when going on a trip.

So MotorWeek got 4.5 seconds on the 3.3T...and 6.2 seconds on the 2.0T. More realistic numbers.

Here is their episode on the 2.0T RWD Auto...

The 2.0T Sports in US doesn't come with Brembos?

It does not. Isn't that crazy ? I don't get it.
Dumb. Shouldn't be called Sports then. That trim there should be called whatever with Sports Apperance package!

Looking at the pricing...on the 3.3T...the jump to Sport is $1,500. On the 2.0T...the jump to Sport is $1k.

But Brembo's exist on all the 3.3T trims. So no clue why the extra $500 on the 3.3T when going to the Sport.

Ah well...I don't care...my mofo is sitting in my garage :)

You guys have way too many trims!
Is the extra $500 for the Sports Nappa seats and HUD maybe?

I think it's the adaptive suspension.

Nice to finally see some realistic numbers on the 2.0 compared to the 3.3! Thanks for this.

That's more on par with what the Motoring TV guys had at 6.4 for the 2.0T.

Autotrader Canada

The Genesis G70 has claimed autoTRADER.ca’s 2019 Overall Top Pick award

It's 111.61" which is on par with the rest of its class.
I think it's probably because of how low the car is and how low the front seats are that makes the leg room in the rear feel right.

The WB is pretty much on par w/ the W205 C Class (111.8").

The problem is that there is a new (and larger) C Class about a year away; and even then, there has been fewer complaints about rear space in the W205 (could be the footwell issue, along w/ headroom - but pretty much every review of the G70 has noted the tight rear space).

Reviewers have stated that a 6 footer can sit behind a 6 footer in the G20 3 Series.

And w/ a substantially larger Lexus IS on the way, along w/ the half size larger CT5 replacing the ATS - the G70 will be the tightest in the segment, which is exactly what was a major problem for the ATS.

The problem w/ the ATS was that GM/Cadillac benchmarked the E90; overlooking the fact that the F30 (which actually hit the market before the ATS) was going to grow in size.

2019 KDM review.
I don't care about the 3d dash that much, but I'll be annoyed if the 2020 model has the electronic close feature for the trunk. I had a G80 for 2 weeks and I love that feature.

Don't care much for the digital cockpit. But I do like how the one for Smart looks.
Not sure if it is an exposure issue but in most videos, the blacks are raised a bit. Would be nice if it was OLED.
The automatic trunk close is another story. Wish we had it upon release!
