  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis GV70 Reviews

I think the reason they loaded up the dealerships with the big boy version is because they knew these reviews would be first...

These reviewers who take off the dealership don't mean anything to Genesis or any other manufacturer. It's the embargoed reviews with the cars directly provided by Genesis that matter.

Historically they released the fully loaded GV80 Prestige first too because that was the trim with the highest demand/preorders upon its debut here. Then came the 2.5T a month later, but for the GV70 it'll take longer cause of the chip shortage.

Raiti's review is pretty spot on I'd say after driving mine for a week. I also found the hood over-hangs to be a bit odd looking but it starts the body line that goes all the way to the black so it kind of makes sense. Yes the exhaust/engine sound is a bit tame and synthesized but it's loud enough for me when you hammer it. The BMW M340i sound is more special and natural. I'm not the biggest fan of the back-end large plastic area either with the exhaust tips but getting used to it. Four smaller tips would have been cooler. The side profile is killer. Front end is great. The performance is strong with this motor. I have not fully hammered mine yet as it's been 117 degrees here in Phoenix and it's still a baby but there's a ton of oomph and it's silky smooth. He's right the transmission is spot on in automatic mode. Paddle shifts I'd give a "B". Could be snappier. Paddles are too small to grab when turning sharp. Bigger and metal would be better. Steering wheel as a whole on the Sport is beautiful.

His experience coming out of those corners at speed on throttle is due to the eLSD in the back. It does push the car around a corner nicely. I watch the 4 wheel drive monitor and it shows the front wheels doing almost as much work as the front all the time which I think is strange for a rear drive platform. There is a bit of body roll in tight corners but not bad. Thats where the 21' wheels also pay off but they will be expensive to replace and I will be buying a wheel/tire insurance package.

Everything inside the car feels premium right down to the home-link buttons on the mirror. Yes the gloss black climate are and even the aluminum in the center console and buttons are finger print magnets along with the steering wheel controls but these are minor issues. Digital dash is just awesome. Too bad it's not offered on other trims. I'd give the interior an A+. I just don't understand why I didn't get red seat belts with my red interior.. Weird.

So far everything I hoped it would be and then some..

Any numbers on the difference, 0-60 mph?
Oh I couldn't say. Less octane usually HP and torque so if you run regular there will be less. The interesting thing about the 3.5 twin turbo is has dual port injection. Should help with carbon build up.

In case you haven't seen these yet, the Korean Aftermarket crowd is gearing up.

Wow. Thanks! I will be all over those. I have smaller hands and these look good and will help. I wonder how they attach? Must be very stick glue so getting them off won't be fun

Any insight on when genesis will lift the review embargo? I want to order mine so bad but it seems irresponsible to order a car before any reviews are out.

Motoman had a post in April (I think - it was a while back regardless) that said the embargo was over.

I don't know when the " embargo" is over but it's odd to not have the big boys with reviews yet.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Disappointing to hear that the paddle shifters aren't metal; thought everything that looked like metal was supposed to be the real thing (got some flack when criticized Genesis for plastic paddle shifters some years back).

It's a touch point, so should feel good to the touch (esp. at the prices they're charging now for the GV70).

Anyhow, here's hoping the embargo gets lifted tonight at midnight.

Anyone know how much power the Lexicon sound system pumps out on the GV70 Prestige with 18 speakers? It's not listed yet on their site.

Also, in the Lexicon link below click on GV80 (21spkr x 1050w) & scroll down to system overview to get an idea of layout. Click on numbers to get further details at each location.

I just remembered that the Macan is getting a redesign for the same 2022 model year as the GV70. Porsche will have a tough act to follow design-wise.
The Macan feels a good bit smaller. When I drove it, I felt cramped in the drivers seat.

Macan rumored to be going all electric when they redo it next year. The manufactures are really biting hard on this move to PHEV. I think it is too much to soon but it is what it is. Exactly why I leased my GV70. Everything will be radically different in 3 years.
