If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Genesis Lighting

I just noticed that KAI is now offering Angel Eyes! They point out that installation is not for the faint of heart!
http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=31_237_318&products_id=3059

Yeah I saw the angel eyes on there a while back, but am not impressed with the price.

Plus, if you've ever notice how bad the description of any item on their website is, you'll want to look elsewhere. Some of their products are decent, but most of their stuff is over priced compared to looking elsewhere.

It's not for the faint of heart because you have to put the lights in the oven to separate the lens from the housing. It sounds worse than it is, but it can be messy. Also that price is about 5 times what it should be, angel eyes are nowhere near that expensive

I don't mean to resurrect a corpse here with this bump, but this thread had so much good information before it suddenly died.

GS300rich especially provided a ton of good info, but never did get around to finishing his thoughts (ie. experimentation) on finding the perfect courtesy light LEDs for this car. He mentioned something about a website called VLEDS that he thought might carry just the right LED for this usage, but wasn't with us long enough to report back on the success/failure of that installation. Anyone else follow through on this idea who can report back?

GS300rich's last post on this forum was over 7 months ago, so I guess he moved on... which is unfortunate. Anyone know what happened to him?

Also disappointing is how Diode Dynamics did not follow through on their word here:

Diode Dynamics;

Once you get all your shipments in have you thought about putting a "Genesis Package" together? Something like: 1ea glove box, 2ea front floor, 4ea door bottom, 2ea trunk, 2ea license plate. All in matching bright white. Just a thought!
Yes! I will be doing that! :)

Diode Dynamics hasn't posted on this forum in 11 weeks, but I just visited their website, as they are sponsors of this forum, and they had very little helpful information on finding products for a genesis sedan, let alone a customized all-in-one kit as described above. I suppose there was simply too little demand? :( I was prepared to pony up some dough if the website labeled which LED was suitable for which application on the car.

Basically the whole point of this post is to ask the question: Does anybody have anything to add to the interior LED options presented in this thread? If not, I'll go by the 8 month-old advice of GS300rich, genesis@genesisworld.com, scottdk. (Thanks guys!)

Diode Dynamics was looking for a Genesis sedan to use to build a kit on according to email correspondence from last month. Until they have a car to test on, there's no kit.

Fair enough. The quote I took from him was from over half a year ago, but I can understand that things get busy, etc.

Where abouts does Diode Dynamics conduct their business? Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I don't remember seeing that all-call. If DD is located near me, maybe we could make something work...

Speaking of Diod Dynamics, I have had 2 friends order 4300K HID kits from DD since they saw my fog lights and loved the light output and color so much. I tinted a guy's vehicle last night and after explaining my HID, he's putting in an order soon as well.

DD is out of St. Louis I believe.

Still looking for a plug and play, fog lights at any time kit.

Maybe we need more info for what you're describing, but nearly all HID kits are plug and play.

FWIW, I sent a couple of PMs to Paul of Diode Dynamics asking for info about ordering interior LEDs and never got a response. The last note was sent over a month ago. So either Paul quit monitoring this forum or he's irritated with me for some good-natured crap I gave him about lanyards he was selling a year ago (long story).

The reason I PMed him is that I couldn't get anywhere with the DD website. I tried to zero in on Genesis options and kept getting moved to a non-DD site offering unrelated products.

If you make any headway on identifying a method for ordering interior LEDs, please make another post on this thread. I gotta believe that a lot of owners, new and old, would be interested, given the high "bang for the buck" factor implicit in lighting upgrades.

Maybe we need more info for what you're describing, but nearly all HID kits are plug and play.

I am looking for a kit that allows me to turn on the fog lights at any time I want them, regardless of what OR if any other lights are switched on. I want them to turn on with the parking lights, or alone and not only if the headlights are on or if they are high beam or low beam.

I would like some type of kit where you have a harness andd maybe a box you might plug new wires (the Harness) onto the fogs and the existing fogs plugs into the box and maybe powere etc. Maybe it would be a mod at the fuse box like the Cigarrette lighters always on, who knows.

I ordered one from I think Diode Dynamics but it never came and they said that the development had not been complete and they would refund my money which they did.

So I still want a "Fogs at any time", kit. :)

This was a great thread. Any follow up on the courtesy lights under the doors? Did the 12 LED make the mark or did you go back to the OEM?

Anyone else swapping out the lights?

I also noticed from the first post that the interior trunk lights used were also the same as the license plate. They must be so freakin' bright on the outside of the car. Does lit light up the ground too?

I'm one of the guys that did the 12 light under door thing 1 year ago. I used the same lights under the dash to illuminate the floor. I bought them at Pep Boys of all places. I also did the trunk and license plate from KAI. To this day, I LOVE the net results. Yes, the trunk is bright as day. I get many comments on how the car lights up and how the color temperature goes well with the platinum car body. There is a good selection of photos in the Pictures section under my name.

My only item that I'll need to fix is that I DID also do the fog lights with more powerful, brighter white lamps. And as has been discussed- DON'T DO THAT! Pingolf (and now me) found that it WILL melt the plastic and even potentially do major damage to the fog light holder. So... I still need to get all the parts and put things back the way they need to be, ...just like Pingolf.

Thanks for the update Phil. So did you end up using the 8 LED or the 12 LED? I think you mentioned using the 8 LED under the dash.

Another question:

I popped out the "inside trunk" light to see what I was getting into. I noticed that the entire light housing comes out, not just the plastic lens. I didn't try to hard, but is taking the lens off to get to the actual bulb a pain in the butt? It looks like it and I don't want to break anything. Thanks in advance.

Going back a few posts regarding Diode Dynamics coming up with Genesis specific interior lighting packages. At the site, they have Stage I, Stage II and Stage III LED Kits for Genesis, but it specifically says Genesis Coupe, so I'm not sure if they are also for the sedan. I've messaged the contact, but since he's apparently disappeared from the forum, I don't know if I will hear back.

I asked him a while ago and the answer was, until they have a Genesis sedan to test with, there is no kit to buy.

I want to change over to LEDs, I just haven't put the effort in yet to map what bulbs I need to buy for each replacement. The trunk, license plate, and puddle lights are my first targets though.

I've started looking to see what sizes are needed and according to some mentioned in this thread the:

Outside license plate and Interior Trunk takes a 37mm 6 LED Festoon.

Glove Box takes a 37mm 3 LED Festoon

Courteasy Lights Takes a Wedge Based Bulb but not sure how sizing works. The OP posted this 921-12 from
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-...on=DispPage&Page2Disp=/mini-wedge.html#table4

I might hit up a good autoparts store and see what they have in stock before I order some.

I want to know how to take the lens off to get access to the actual bulb. Any suggestions?

Here is Pauls email address. Try contacting him by email. Looks like Diode Dynamics is having a large Black Friday sale, with a sale on HID's and LED's etc. I received an email yesterday from Paul.

Does anyone know what size wedge light bulbs are on the doors (courtesy) and foot areas?
