  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Owners: What vehicle did your Genesis replace?

This is my first Hyundai, and I gota tell you I love it! My New 4.6 tech replaces an 03 745i. I the past decade I've had two 7 series, one 535, and a 328is .... I've only had the Genny a week, but if first impressions are an indicator, I don't think I ever need to go back to over priced German engineering.

My 2010 Genesis replaced a 2003 Infiniti Q-45 with about 165K trouble free miles on the clock. My 2003 replaced a 1997 Q-45, and my '97 replaced a '91 Q-45. Loved the "Q's, but they weren't good sellers in the states, so they stopped importing them in 2006. I think if they were still around I might have another. That being said, I love the Genesis...

My 2010 Genesis 4.6 replaced a 2007 Lexus ES350 with 47K miles on it. I had many issues with rattles in ES350 that the Lexus dealer could not fix plus the endless stream of Toyota/Lexus recalls shattered my faith in the company.

In the end, the power, comfort and quality of the Genesis won out. RWD was a concern living in the Northeast, but I will get snow tires to offset that issue.

Have had the car a week and am very happy with my purchase.

Spiritually.... my new 2010 Genesis 4.6 replaced my 2005 Chrysler 300C. I had intended to drive my 300C until I hit about 200K miles. But sadly, it was involved in an accident (not my fault, mechanic's fault) and the insurance company called it a total loss. The Genny is the most recent in a long line of Hyundais that my family has owned. Our first was a Hyundai Excel from 1987/88. So, we've been there from the beginning. Very gratifying to see how much progress Hyundai has made.

Mine replaced a Lincoln MKX. It was a decent vehicle that had the THX stereo system. Unfortunately mileage never was one of it brightest points, nor was power. I originally got a deal that I could not pass up on it. Lincoln has lost it's way in the luxury area. Too much switchware came from the Edge and they are not worth the sticker price.

I live in Athens, GA and my 2011 4.6 with tech replaced a 2004 Acura TSX w/tech which had 239000 miles on it. Love the Genesis and did about two months research on cars before we decided to purchase the 4.6 Genesis on Sept. 20th in Macon GA. We also have a GMC 4wd Suburban, a BMW Z3, and my fully restored Rangoon Red 1965 Mustang w/289. The Z3 is still my favorite car to drive around town though.

I traded my 2007 Azera Limited XM for a 2011 4.6 Genesis.

My 2011 Genesis 4.6 replaced a 2009 Genesis 4.6 w/tech, which replaced a 2009 Sonota.

Replaced my wife's 1998 Honda Civic EX coupe. :D
I still have to drive my 2004 Ford Explorer for 4-5 more years. :(

Hi my 2010 Genesis 3.8 w/tech replaced a 2008 Toyota Prius that was loaded with leather,GPS and a ton of other stuff. It replaced a 2006 Camry SE V6 that I loved but it had transmission problems Toyota said didn't exist. The one thing it had I didn't want was a fist full of recall notices. I lost all faith in Toyota. So here I am and happy to be here.

2010 Equinox (company ride)....got a 4.6 Tech...two weeks in. great car

Hi...
I just traded in my 2000 Acura TL-S to 2011 Genesis Coupe 2.0T
With gas price going up(I live in NY and supreme is well passed $4.50 as we speak), I went to the Hyundai dealer thinking I will get an Elantra but Gen coupe was calling me and I couldn't resist...=) Besides, the deal I got on Gen Coupe was actually better than fully loaded Elantra. No brainer, right?
I had the car for two weeks now and I absolutely love it.
Gas mileage isn't so great though. I get about 15 mpg in the city and 21 on the highway.

Anyhow, I have gone through 10 different cars(mostly Japanese) and two of them were Hyundai accent coupe and Santa Fe.

I am very happy with my genesis so far...
