  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Owners: What vehicle did your Genesis replace?

I traded a 2007 Azera for the '09 Genesis 3.86, grey in and out...really liked that car, too! I was a 2nd owner of that car, and would only have 60K drivetrain warranty as a result. Saw the Genesis info on the website and other sites...found the only one in town, and ultimately bought it! It's interesting, as noted by my brother, that the car is named "Genesis", and I bought the first one in my area (east Tennessee)! Yeah, it doesn't take much to amuse me sometimes!

I am replacing a 2005 Chrysler 300 Touring model. I have to turn it in by September 5th. I have to figure out how to turn it upside down to get the gas out of it. I probably won't drive it any more now that I have the Genesis. I also have a 1996 850 Ci BMW (that's the 12 cylinder one). Only the Genesis truly looks like a luxury car from inside.

I will be trading in my 2004 Dodge SRT-4 for the V8 w/ Tech Package.

Haven't had the bug for a car like this since my 87 Acura Legend Coupe. That said, I'm either talking myself into needing a four door in which case this will replace a Infiniti G35 coupe, or getting it for the wife to drive which would replace an Acura MDX.

I just got Silver Gen Tech for my wife. I replaced a 2007 Shelby GT 500. Couldnt afford to keep them both. She mostly has been driving my 2003 Excursion diesel. looking forward to a little better fuel mileage. I really love this new car.

Jwaters: I traded it in my 2006 BMW 530i - no regrets with my new Genesis. Love it more each day.

I've been a BMW driver since 1990! We've had 5's and 7's and two X5's....all will V8's. I love them, but after the "Discover America" tour I attended, I'm a changed man. The Gen V8 smoked the 7 every time! The new 7's are over $75000 plus extra $ for goodies! The Genesis is everything people say and more.

Waiting for the V8's to arrive. Anybody know when they will be at the dealers?

That's quite a change...but such dramatic changes are too common to surprise me anymore.

This is quite impressive...which BMWs do you currently own.

I really need to drive this car.

The Genesis is pulling people from all different directions.. This car REALLY is a game changer.. It's becoming very obvious - isn't it?

I was going to ask how you could drive such a large car on the roads (and with the crazy drivers) in Puerto Rico, then I realized you are in AL. :)

Traded a 2003 Dodge SRT-4

I had to check that you weren't double-posting. A different member on the previous page traded a 2004 SRT4. And I thought one instance was interesting...

I bought the SRT-4 because it was the best "go fast" bang for the buck when it came out and now I see the Genesis as the best "luxury" bang for the buck.

As much as I love my SRT-4 I am ready for a smooth quite ride again. And with the performance the v8 has to offer I will still have the power on hand to open up on a nice clear highway :D.

My new Genesis replaced a 2007 Acura MDX (which in turn replaced a 2006 Acura RL--and the Genesis is better than either of them).

Doesn't it get expensive to swap cars yearly?

Doesn't it get expensive to swap cars yearly?

Worked out to about every fifteen months.

I'm lucky enough to have been able to afford to do so. A nearly-permanently-fatal heart attack back in 2000 changed my view on a lot of things (they nearly gave up on me after 6 minutes of not being abe to bring me back... thankfully, they tried one more time and it worked). I allow myself a certain amount of splurge money, and this falls within that range.

However, for what it's worth, I paid very little for the Genesis after trade in. They took the MDX and $5k for the Genesis--and since the ad valorum taxes of $988 were coming due next week and I didn't have to pay them by purchasing a new car within 30 days of my birthday, I figure that paid for 25% of the trade-in cost, so I was glad to write 'em a check for the remainder.

Reading your post reminds me once again to just be thankful of good health.

Trading into a Genesis almost put cash back in your pocket! Talk about value for your money...

this will be a 3rd car for me and the wife. last time we did this (3 vehicles), it was a passat W8. i cross shopped used A8s new S5s and the corvette. all over the map......at the end of the day i just couldn't deny the value here. my W8 was the same as what i am paying for the V8 w/tech, and that was 5 years ago!!!
