  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Owners: What vehicle did your Genesis replace?

2013 Sonata and a 2013 smart car, although they are building a 2016 smart car for my wife in France today.

John

My Genesis sedan 3.8 replaced a 2009 V6 Sonata Limited. The Sonata is going to our son and daughter in law. Anyone know where I can get a black leather car seat to match the Genny? Just kidding about the car seat.

My 2012 Genesis Rspec sedan replaced a 2006 Trailblazer SS.

Second day owner of a 2015 Genesis Sedan 5.0 Ultimate. It replaced a 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track. I loved that coupe so much... it was hard to say goodbye.
However, everytime I give the new one some juice, it's easy to forget about it. :-)

That 5.0 does tend to go. Nice when getting out of a tight situation - just put it in warp.

My 2012 3.8 4-door replaced a 2000 Infiniti q45 Anniversary. Had my Gen for two years, putting 30,000 miles on it from 10,000 and it is just as nice as the day I bought it.

A 2011 Hyundai Azera Limited. Had it for a total of 18 months. LOL The Genny's draw was just too much for me to resist.

A 2015 Genesis 5.0 sedan replaced my 2009 Cadillac CTS-V that dyno'ed 570 RWHP.
Love the smooth, quiet ride of the Genesis and the all the technology. Still trying to get used to stepping down to 420 hp. Gonna have to dyno it to find out what it is actually putting down to the wheels after I get some miles on it.
Already thinking about a catback exhaust, but I promised the wife that I'd leave this one alone. :D

2005 Toyota Camry

Just about to put it up for sale, I know there is a young person who will be thrilled to have it as their first car.

Roughly around 355 hp at the wheels.

Replacing my black/beige 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL, purchased a year old, with a 2016 3.8 RWD Genesis with Signature Package. As soon as one is available here. Can't happen fast enough.

This is my first Hyundai. I traded in my 2011 Nissan Murano LE AWD (wife's car) for a 2015 Genesis 3.8 HTrac Ultimate just yesterday. We got her a Honda minivan. I wanted to get back into a luxury sedan. Have had owned Audi A-6, Lexus GS and Cadillac CTS & STS. After reading and watching many positive reviews on the Genesis and given its perceived value compared to the other brands I decided to give it a try. So far I am liking it a lot. Hopefully I can still say the same in a year. :)

I think you will enjoy the Genesis. I left Lexus for Hyundai and have been very pleased.

A 2008 Mercedes R-350. Nice ride but the maintenance cost was ridiculous. Had a very positive experience with a 2004 Hyundai Sonata so went the Hyundai route again.

We have owned three Lincoln Town cars. The last and latest started to rust above the rear wheels at 2 1/2 years and 48,000 miles. Ford would do nothing about the 100,000 mile no rust warranty. So off we went looking at "foreign" cars. Since I have equipment that is made by the Hyundai folks and their parts and service has been great and the German stuff seemed to be evolving into too many types, not to mention their "we're the best haughty attitude" we looked and liked the new 2015 Genesis. And best of all it is an all wheel drive, so no more noisy stud tires and wheel changes with weight in the trunk. Although I hate the winter mess I can't wait to experience our first all wheel drive car or should I say my wife will. I'll be in my four wheel drive truck and hope I never have to hear from her stuck on flat ice like the Lincolns would. I'll be reporting back as soon as the first bad snow storm happens.

I traded in my 2006 Cadillac DTS for a 2015 Genesis 5.0. Cadillac was a beautiful, comfortable car but I made the mistake of going to the auto show. Sat in the new Genesis and really liked the build quality, safety features and price. no regrets....

:welcome: aboard happysam and congrats on your new ride!

This is the first Hyundai that I have owned. My Father had a 2011 Genesis 3.8, and it always stuck with me as I car that I liked to drive. I traded my 2013 Mustang 3.7 on a low mileage 2012 Genesis 3.8. It was time to go back to a family car, as my son could no longer fit in the back seat of the Mustang. It came down to a 2012 TL or the car I bought. Liked both, but the Genesis had lower mileage and just seemed to tick more boxes on what I wanted in a car. Love the RWD, good power, and so much more comfort than the Mustang. Its my decompression chamber after a long day at work....:)
