You put one plastic spacer behind it in the flat part of the pocket. The metal plate rests on the raised edges without bending.

I saw these at first about a month ago and had planned to order, but then came across these a few weeks ago:
Winged Door Handle Catch Plate for 2015-2019 Hyundai Genesis Sedan/G80 - Genesis Owners

They were shipped from Korea and arrived earlier this week. They appear to be molded of a similar ABS plastic as the originals and simply snap in place perfectly, took me all of 5 minutes to put them all in. I am thrilled at the quality and look, and highly recommend.

While I like the brushed look and Genesis name of the above, the fit of these are unbeatable and imo look a bit more classy. Took her to the dealer today for some fresh Mobil 1, and instantly received the first compliment from the SA. Hands down worth the few bucks more.

Excellent! They had a few 5-star reviews so figured it was worth a shot and turned out being well worth it. Coming from Korea, I suspect they may be using the same mold since they fit perfectly and snap right in. Happy to help out.
