  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis USA website update?

I think you missed the point of the entire argument.

I think you quoted the wrong poster making personal attacks

So posting critical comment about Genesis is OK (which I agree)
But
EdP Posting a critical comment about a post is NOT OK?

“if you can’t take take the heat, get out of the kitchen”

No, I quoted the exact post I wanted to quote. In my opinion likening someone to a 7th grader is a personal attack.

Are you being serious or just a troll trying to get a rise out of people. Of course being critical of Genesis is OK as is being critical of a post, being critical of a poster is not. EdP and Spanky was doing that in my opinion. Others may have been also but until those two posted this thread contained comments and criticisms about Genesis and the web site not the posters.

Not trying to get a rise, just wanting to see some fairness here since you brought it up. Calling someone a 7th grade is a personal attack but calling a invididual a clown isn’t? You are entitled to your opinion, but I don’t agree with it.

I didn't say it wasn't but thank you for proving my point. The clown remark was made in post #38 after the other posts I was referring to and from the time stamp probably while I was composing my post. What point are you trying to make again?

Since you asked here is my point. Your reply is very selective. All the posts I quoted are above and earlier than yours. Ok you were composing you posts when the second quote was posted. Would have included that in your post? Now the first one where it just tells the poster to “go away” and was posted around noon is not personal? Or did you just choose to overlook that? Just saying.

Don't really care if it was personal or not since it was in response to a personal attack or what could be construed as one.

I'm going to let you go play with someone else since this is getting us nowhere and is frankly making you look pretty silly. See Ya.

You were doing well until the last paragraph. Couldn’t resist getting personal, could you.

Really? Is this junior high? If your kid makes a mistake do they deserve to be criticized on social media?

Silly question and even more stupid analogy - get real! Genesis is a car company (that is part of an even larger car company) that has made many public statements that have proved way off. They have mishandled the brand launch and, in an even bigger way, the G70 launch. On what planet is that even remotely equivalent to someone's kid making a mistake???

Why do you have such a problem with people criticizing them on an internet Genesis enthusuast site? The fact is that they deserve it and folks thinking of buying a Genesis should be aware of these issues as it reflects quite poorly on the company's leadership!

Here's an idea - why can`t you just ignore what you don't agree with?

They thought they knew, but obviously they did not. They will pay a penalty in the long run. You can decide to move on or take the stance of a 7th grader and give them what you think they "deserve" Your choice. Make sure your kids get the same treatment.
Again, a completely moronic analogy - and then you resort to condescending name calling - so who is really acting like a 7th grader here?

I would guess probably the same reason you can’t.
He’s is not disagreeing...but rather supporting the realistic peeps. There’s a difference.

Eye of the beholder. 🙄

Please - the thread is about people discussing how ridiculous it is that there is still no configurator for the G70 on the Genesis USA website yet - even when cars are at some dealers and being bought! That is pretty F'd up and reflects pretty poorly on Genesis as they really seem to not know what they are doing!

It's 2018, Genesis should feel the heat on their poor performance publicly on internet forums and social media so they have impetus to do better - it's not the old days where they could easily hide their missteps!

Ed P appears to wants to squelch that conversation and belittle anyone who wants to point out how screwed up this whole launch has been. He could easily just avoid the thread if he feels the complaining is useless. Instead, he decides to criticize people (not very effectively, though )who want to vent about it.

Some of you appear satisfied with Genesis poor performance - great. However, many others here are are not (for good reason) and post it here where other's can see it and factor it into their decision on whether they want to buy a car from this company at this point or not.

I was just participating in the thread and I'm not going to ignore the assinine analogy and judgemental attitude that he directed at me. However, he could have easily ignored a thread with folks justifiably venting instead of trying to be a Genesis spokesman defending their screwups and criticizing those who point them out - so, sorry, but not the "same reason" at all...

1. Please hold back personal insults
2. The criticism of Genesis is allowed
3. The criticism of the criticism of Genesis is allowed
4. The option to ignore people if you don't want to argue - should be common knowledge

Stop assuming that if you don't answer somebody - you're indicating that they're right. Intelligent people will see that you choose not to waste your time arguing.

Just a question that came to my mind. How the heck Genesis USA are going to provide the Concierge valet service to older G80 vehicles if more than half of the dealers that use to sale those vehicles will not be alowed to sale 2019 model years? Should an older dealer that has no Genesis cars will service those cars? Even though they stopped doing business with Genesis USA?

I don't remember where I read it, maybe just a post here so take with a grain of salt, but I think someone said that for 2018 models and previous those can get service at either a Hyundai or Genesis dealer. For 2019 they must go to a Genesis dealer for the included service.

It would be nice if you could at least get the included free service at Hyundai dealerships on the 2019 and up vehicles. I'm not talking about the valet service but at least the oil changes and tire rotations. I have a feeling there will be a lot of places where there is no Genesis dealership within 60 miles. As much as I would like the best experience, I would trade it for free work at the Hyundai dealership because odds are I'm not going to drive that far just to get my vehicle serviced and will end up having to pay for it.

I feel like these are the type of questions that should be answered on their website too.

I deleted all the posts about "owning" a Genesis (or not) since they had nothing to do with the topic. Carry on...
