  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Great news: Android auto -- call your dealer!!!!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Has anyone gotten any update on Android Auto or Apple CarPlay on the 2015 Genesis both signature and ultimate packages? I have the ultimate package on my 3.8 and it sucks having the newest Android phone and never using the cars navigation but not being able to fully integrate my phone into the car. I hope Hyundai does right by its Ultimate owners as I believe the Signature is a no brainer due to sharing the same system as the sonata.

No updates. I have written to Ricky Lao, the product manager at Hyundai , twice and have received no response. In the past, hew has always responded to me pretty quickly, but I have not heard back from him. This is not a good sign. Apparently, it is not int the 2016 model either!

I just received this (two days ago) from Hyundai USA when I asked why my 2016 Genesis did not have the same android features as those in the Sonata. Apparently the Genesis does not have the same connectivity features with an android as it does an iphone. Anyway, herewith Hyundai's response:

"We are currently working on other vehicles that have the same Navi system as the Sonata. Those included Genesis(standard AVN), Veloster, Elantra GT, Sonata HEV and the Azera. More models and trim levels will be added when the display audio system launches. At this time we do not have an estimated time of arrival for Android Auto, however we will have more information this summer."

It's not coming real soon, but at least it's not a negative response from Hyundai.

They have been saying that for over 6 months. I think it is just a tactic designed to allay our concerns, but I don't think it will happen. I used to think it would, but the Sonata is their top selling car and it is a priority. I wish all the Genesis owners would write corporate and tell them that they are turned off by their dragging their feet about this and tell them you won't buy another Genesis if this doesn't happen soon. Of course, you don't have to follow through with the threat, but it wouldn't hurt to let them think they are losing customers for their high end market brand. I am especially annoyed because I told them that I was getting a new phone and was trying to decide between an Android and an iPhone and the determining factor would be the ability to either get Android Auto in the near future or to use the car's current capability of hooking up with Apple's Siri. I trusted their assertion that Android Auto was coming soon and went with the Note 5. Had I known, I would have gone with the iPhone.

I love my car, but I just don't feel like HMA is quite ready to go against the top 3..I have squeaks with my cars and I constantly getting the brush off @ the dealer, With my previous car (VW Touareg) I was treated like a VIP no matter what dealer I visited

Now this crap with android auto is a huge turn off for me

Does this mean that in all likelihood, Android Auto is going to become available to those of us with the Tech package before you guys with the Ultimate package?

It is a negative response for Ultimate owners as the "display audio system" is a new head unit platform - so that won't help 2015/2016 Genny owners with the Ultimate System. I'd guess that it will never come at this point as a retrofit - I do expect the 2017 G80 will have it along with a totally new head unit setup. We'll be "orphaned"!

This is a dealer problem not a Hyundai problem. I know that my very good friend has a Tiquan and his service is terrible. Again, nothing to do with Volkswagen in his case, the dealer is to blame. If it makes you feel any better, my dealer is so sub par I refuse to go there for anything except a recall which unfortunately requires me to visit him. Come to think of it, I just may bring my car in to another Hyundai dealer close to my work in the future.

Yes. Go to your myhyundai account and select 'Downloads'. It will give you a step by step guide and I've done it so it works. Hope you don't have an ultimate.

I did, its not there. :'(

I have the 2015 3.8 Ultimate.

It's not coming to the Ultimate.

There are roughly 4 or 5 threads that discuss this fyi

Hmm my bad, I thought the ultimate had the 8" and the regular had 7" screens.
