Getting familiar with the group...
While I await the possible release of Android Auto on the 9 inch infotainment system, I would love to see some new apps like Spotify.
I just got off the phone with a guy named Steve who is the Team Lead for the Premium Group about another issue I was having with the stupid people who handle the phone calls. Anyway, we got on the subject of Android Auto and he told me that Android Auto for the Genesis (BOTH 8" and o9.2") was RELEASED TO THE DEALERS THIS WEEK. He suggested that we call the dealer who should have whatever he needs starting Monday to start installing the upgrade. When you get it, please post. HOORAY! HOORAY! FINALLY!
So has anyone been able to get the Android Auto update on their 2015 Hyundai Genesis?
My head unit needs to be replaced (Sirius issue - forgets subscription every time you shut the car off) and the dealer said it's back ordered and will take at least 4 weeks to get in. He said it's likely I'll be getting the unit they are putting in the 2016's (production of which is why he was told the head units are in short supply/back-ordered).
So, maybe I'll get a surprise and the new head unit will have Android Auto? I'll let you know in about a month.
My car is starting to drop the navi traffic when turned off, where you having that issue also?
Just purchased a 2015 v6 awd ultimate 4 weeks ago, and have recently been shadowing the forum.
When I went to the dealer to pick-up the car, I asked about Android Auto and they actually took my car and loaded it into the system. They told me that once Hyundai green lights it, it should get remotely activated. Based on this thread I am feeling like I may have been sold some hog wash, thoughts?

Hey guys, new to the forum. This post drug me in, as I've been keeping an eye on it for a while.
Have the 2015 Genesis Ultimate package...
2 questions:
1) Anyone heard any updates recently from the contacts at Hyundai? I too have been having some of the random issues described in the posts around the head units and if they might be swapping them for the upgraded units, that would be great.
Thanks guys. Looking forward to contributing in the future.
Sean
If you are having the same issue that I have, screen going black when you start the car and not coming back until you turn the car off and on again, so far they have done nothing. I went in for my 7500 mile service showed them the video of the issue I was having, and when I picked up the car they told me that they could not replicate the issue and just did a factory reset and they hope that fixes the issue. Well, it did not!
I am still having it go black on startup and everything works, I can even use the the touch screen and guess what I am doing, but all I have is a black screen. I take video of it so they can see the car is on, I am driving and no screen, so I have proof that there is something wrong. I do not recommend you do what I do, videoing while driving, but I do not know what else to do to prove to them something is wrong, because if no proof they will just say no issue because it didn't happen when they had the car.

Possible suggestions:
1. Make sure you get yourself starting the car in the video
2. If that doesn't, then contact Hyundai Corporate
3. Possibly take it to another dealer
4. Please publicize the dealer name that's giving you the Runaround Sue, and feel free to let that dealer's GM know about this thread.
