  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Good point. I don’t blame Genesis for the delays. These are strange times.
I think frustrations could have been substantially better if they didn’t set expectations that they couldn’t meet, and better communicated status/progress. There’s no good reason that most of the threads on this forum should have existed. We should have had info from the source rather than having to cobble things together as a group.
I learned a lot more on the progress of my order from this group than from my dealer. Maybe some dealers get more communications from Genesis or are more outreaching on this subject.

Just received news from Genesis London that my vehicle is a year to a year and a half out. I’m number 911 in the queue. Was initially told 6 months.
When did you put your order in? I put a deposit in on April 21, but don't know what my build number is. Anyone out there with a guess as to how long I'm going to have to wait?

Just put my order in a few days ago. You're likely in the same batch as me where you'll be waiting til next year if I were to guess.

my dealer said my gv60 should be ready for delivery next month. Im in Vancouver area. Also saw a demonstration model in port Coquitlam charging (facebook forum) . Fingers crossed we get our EV's soon! Ordered in febuary or march

Quick review of my test drive this morning. Took the whole family (I am 6'4" , wife is 6ft, son is 6'5", and twin girls are 5'6").

Overall impressions:

Slightly smaller than the GV70 beside it and the Ionic 5.

Drivers seat is great, with it all the way back there is about 4-5in space to the back seat. My foot just barely rests on the gas pedal and is probably a long drive cruising position only. The thigh bolster (only on performance) is good but probably not a game changer as the seat was longer than most. The massage function (performance only) was decent and kind of off putting at first. Still not sure how I activated and deactivated it.

Headroom in front was plenty.

Back headroom was snug for 6ft and taller, leg room was good even behind me and my son sitting in the front. Back seats can recline more if you move the rear hatch cover to a different location (3 options) but doesn't improve headroom.

Fit and finish was great as were the materials (not a fan of the silver steering wheel controls). The door and headliners were very nice. Displays were excellent.

Acceleration was great, I hit the boost on a curved on ramp to the dismay of my wife in the backseat (save it for straight aways). The Eco setting is good, keeps you wanting more speed but is sufficient. Sport mode really gets you moving and is responsive. The range changes as you switch drive modes.

Range started around 375 at 95% charge.

Also, not exactly pleased with the whole process. Dealer said to complete my order online(finance options, credit etc) and my order would be submitted??? Was told previously I could change my selections, he said it was still possible online but didn't seem to be the case. I was told I would still be in the order based on reservation date but didn't get the warm and fuzzy feeling.

I did the credit online but had no option to appraise my trade vehicle. So that showed as $0 on the forms? I put a higher deposit to compensate.

They keep changing the rules as you go. Dealer said delivery is 8 months out for new orders. My March order would be end of year??? Probably being cautious but kind of pissed me off. Others are getting summer deliveries.

How high up do you sit….more like a car or an SUV?

I’m wondering how much the ioniq 5 pricing will increase and if the ultimate will be “only” $5k - $10k CAD less than the GV60 advanced. If so, it may make sense value-wise to just take the pre-ordered GV60 (with presumably earlier delivery).

Big caveat is that one would be comfortably able to afford either car.

How significantly did range increase in Eco mode? What would range be in Eco with a full battery?

I would estimate 10-20 increase vs sport/boosted. Probably 400km in eco

Yeah the pricing of the GV60 has scared me into wondering the same thing. Now I wouldn’t be surprised to see the EV6 and Ioniq 5 jump to just under the $70,000 rebate threshold and even see the base price climb significantly towards the $55,000 entry point. Unfortunately the increase of the rebate parameters is looking to just increase the entry level opposed to all of our goal of increasing the number of models available.

At its current price the BMW i4 gran coupe looks like a bargain at $56k with 335 Hp compared to the GV60, unfortunately the awd is only on the performance model at $73k with 516 HP and a slightly larger battery…

I loved the i4 till I tried to fit in it. It is like a 3/4 scale car

My selections were changed and I kept my place in line, but the salesman did it. I couldn’t do it myself

If you look at european price increases I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect the i5 to increase by 3-5 K. Right now the price difference between an Ioniq 5 ultimate and GV60 advanced and performance is 15K and 24 K respectively after taxes and rebates. If you could get an ultimate i5 and aesthetics aside it clearly is the best value. Problem is if you could order one today you would be looking at a 2024 delivery, maybe.
