  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Yes it is gunmetal, and yes their is a major diminishing of light output, noticed immediately. If you're in a high deer area like me I would not recommend lol. However, I think it makes the car look better but thats my opinion.
Thanks for letting me know. Agree looks sharp, but not willing to reduce my light output. In fact, when I was a young pup...many many years ago...used to make my own headlight covers out of smoked plexi, molding them by heating the plexi on my parents' stove. Those were the days LOL.

I did something similar for my 1976 Firebird...added velcro and a tab so I could pop them off at night.

Bingo!!! Depending on the design, used molded in tabs or velcro, or both. And here I thought I was the only fanatic doing it LOL. And of course, best light was just as dusk was setting it...nice clean shiny car cruisin with just the amber parking lights on (that was when we had that option), tinted windows and smoked headlights. Man bringing back memories. And damn...just realized how old I am!

Here it is in all its pink flamingo glory. ;)

I told myself I won't mod the daily... Better get off this thread... :ROFLMAO:

Hehehehehe.... Something something JB4
I'm honestly shocked there aren't more reviews of this thing. I have a 2.5t and all I've found is a dyno pull from a GV80 when the chip was still in development. I mean, for $650 give me some kind of documentation or performance numbers.

Good way to void your warranty using a chip. And yes, they will know even if you remove it. Gotta like high tech, lol.

There have been many many many many many many installs of JB4 on countless Genesis G70s and 80s to date and I havent read any issues =)
I would love to see a review from someone that's put one in a 2.5t GV70. I'm ready to buy the thing if it delivers decent performance but I haven't seen any feedback.

I saw dyno performance for gv80 2.5t same engine. Peak performance, guy was able to get around 350 hp.

I actually just stumbled across JB4tech's forum pages where there are a bunch of people talking about it! I'm sold, will be ordering shortly.

Yh i wanna get it too. This one makes a 3.5 go like a rocket. I have seen videos of guys rocking this thing and easily gapping those 5.7, scatpacks and GT’s. I am just concerned of the warranty and engine.

Can you share a link?

Coming from Audi where they can easily tell if you ever mess with the ECU, this was my experience (again remember this was with Audi and not Genesis so this is just an example).

1) You need to be unfortunate enough to have an issue with the engine that you need warranty work. Low probability
2) If you remove the chip tune the service tech has to look for and determine if you chip tuned the car. I had my Audi in for service for a well known engine oil burning issue and Audi techs never mentioned the car was tuned after I didn't bother removing the tuning. All warranty work was completed and paid for by Audi.
3) The service tech then has to prove you had a chip tune on the engine. Audi's can be scanned, the Genesis might be able to be scanned. But lastly.....
3) They have to prove the (chip) tune caused the issue.

My thought is, the chance are pretty darn low you ever need any engine warranty work. They the chances are low they know you had a chip tune installed. And by the time you get to them having to prove the chip tune causes the damage.....

Pasting this for reference... Keep in mind the conversion from whp to hp. And also keep in mind e20 ( map4 ) is a mixture of ethanol and pump gas, not really something i'd consider for daily driving unless you are the only one who ever fills the car up. Hoping for a 93 octane map thats optimized and then we'll really be rocking.

284whp is roughly 350hp with an awd.

Hey buddy - two questions:

1) Did you brush the tips or remove and spray????? Has it held up???
2) Is there any drone, at any speed, with the muffler delete (do you have 2.5 or 3.5?)

Ok, more like 4 questions, if you're picky.
LOL

One more update. Blacked out chrome tailpipe tips. They were the only bright chrome on the car. Thanks to LQQK on the forum for posting his process for this. Used high heat paint and went with a semi gloss finish. Much happier with the look now. View attachment 47046

What year was your Audi???
I had a 2018 RS5.... every time it needed service for ANYTHING, they scanned logs and would easily find parameters that were out of whack - my dealer was mod friendly, but had told me that Audi is now becoming very strict. Audi apparently now automatically runs scans of all vehicles in for service in an automated log report to corporate.
Warranty issues can be denied by an automated system, immediately upon detection of a single parameter out of spec against another (e.g., boost pressure versus IATs, etc.).

Also, a tune doesn't just impact the engine - it impacts the entire drivetrain...
Fighting a Magnusson Moss warranty issue with a manufacturer, it you've chipped/tuned and lost the transmission, AWD system, eLSD (even with known issues) would be a battle from hell...

YMMV - but the RS5 and now my GV70 are the only two cars I've not tuned....
