  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hard riding Genesis sedan.

I completely understand what you are saying, but you obviously do not experience the suspension problems I have in my car. Its not a perception. Trust me it is a real problem.
I would like for HMA to step up.. Im finding that will not be the case as time goes by. So I have already pursued your second solution and will let you know the outcome.

Have you filed a formal complaint w/ Hyundai of America and/or had the Service Manager at your dealership do a ride-along in your car as well as another Genesis on their lot so he/she can feel the difference? Maybe there is something truly wrong with your suspension. Based on your statements that everyone who rides in your car agrees that it rides poorly, it sounds to me that this is an extreme case that SHOULD be rectified under warranty. I'm sure you have already done this, but if not, that's where I would start. I would call them every week to inquire on the status of your case until they do something to rectify it and go so far as to create a blog about your problems and Hyundai's unwillingness to work with you. No automaker likes bad press, and while you shouldn't have to go to such extreme measures, if it's as bad as you say it is, they need to resolve this for you.

Hi seatle genesis, not sure if you read my postings in another section, but i also have an early built genesis 10/08...........i also felt my issue was extreme, i went tru all the hyundai steps and a field tech drove my car and said it "drove as designed" .......i took the next step and discovered that hyundai changed the shocks, springs (softer- in a side by side test as i had the old ones off) and the rear sway bar/buschings............my brother is a prof mech. He installed the new shocks and springs and the veh rides much better.........nuch more controlled over certain road surfaces.........if you have the issue you know what i mean...........all four shocks have new part numbers and i can give those to you if you want........the springs had the same number, but they were softer when compared side by side...........the rear parts were much easier to install.........i initally did the rear only which showed some improvement...i did the fronts a month later and it improved further.........the third step will be the sway bar/bushings change................and like some have said i think colder temps do make the veh more harsh..........just a speculation, but i think hyundai may continue to tweak these parts further for future improvement,,,,,,,,,,,,i like you just wanted to improve the ride of my car, which i felt was not quite tuned right.........so i think there is a real argument for both sides of the issue........cars with a build date before 4/8/09 have the old parts mentioned above and cars built after 4/8/09 have the new parts, which is why some have differences in opinion about the ride............i am not trying to argue the situation, just improve my vehicle and possibly help other with their problems........i must say the ride is not much softer, only muche better controled over certain road surfaces.........it is also less jittery over all surfaces........the changes will not make the car ride like a lexus or avalon...........again i have all old and new part numbers if you want them.....all parts mentioned will cost approx. $1300.00 ................hope this info helps if you have read it before......later all

Hi Genesis 45 and to all...

I bought the Genesis because I like the car. I wanted to give Hyundai a real chance at moving into the luxury car market. I dont want the ride of a Lexus or Buick. I dont like that mushy ride. I wanted a firm yet sporty ride to my car. I did not get that in THIS car.

So thanks for the kind post and no I did not see your post about this earlier. Yes please PM me the part numbers and I will attempt to have them installed some where local.

If I read your posts correctly, you are saying that your particular Genesis rides rough and that may not be true of all Genesis? Am I correct here?

- Have you ever taken another 2010 Genesis for a Test Drive to see if there is indeed a difference between your car and other Genesis? That would be a good test.

Im pretty sure with everyones comments and my ride experience that not all Genesis ride the same (from early 09 to present).

and yes I did take a beautiful black on black 2010 v8 with tech on the road right after the 2010's came out and it did ride better than mine does. Albeit the ride was short since the salesman knew that he wasnt going to make a sale on me so why waste his time.

I would like to get together with someone local here in Seattle to compare long term rides and just see if there truely is a difference. I suspect there is, just from all the other comments here.
