If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. does anyone think the dealer would include the rebadge?

You may be able to have the dealer do it for a price. At my dealer they have some Genesis cars already badged. On the sticker, it adds $200:eek:

has anyone thrown a BMW "Roundel" on their trunk?

I was thinking that it would be kinda cool if I could find 4, 6, 0, and i badges that would be similar to BMW's style, along with the BMW Roundel..so on the back it would just be the Bimmer badge and 460i..so making it look like a BMW 460i?

I have NO idea what I could do for the front, though. I'm wishing there would be an aftermarket grille that had straight bars going across, kind of like the Mercedes-Benz S-class, or Lexus LS without the slanted "L"...I wish the Gene could pull off dual kidney shaped grilles!

Has anyone had any luck finding aftermarket wheels with smaller center caps that could potentially be replaced with ones from a BMW? Sadly, the bolt pattern for the Genesis is not the same as any BMW...very frustrating. I would love to toss on some M5 wheels

Sorry bud, can't help you. If I wanted a BMW I would have actually gone out and bought a BMW instead of trying to make my Hyundai look like a Bimmer.

Not sure what your trying to prove trying to make your Hyundai look like a BMW. The Genesis stands on its own 4 wheels just fine thank you very much. It does not need to pretend it's something its not.

For the second time now, I saw a dude that lives in my area with a black Sonata (last Generation) and it's in like perfect condition with custom wheels and nice black leather.

The killer? He has an Infiniti badge on the trunk, but it's positioned upside down. It's a disgrace to Hyundai. It makes me want to turn violent:cool:

This Bentley is more proud to wear the lazy H than our Genesis sedans are

Oh, and I was kidding about the BMW rebadging. I probably should have said it more sarcastically. I am one of the Genesis owners who is blunt and accepting of how "inspired" my car was by BMW's 5-series in the rear, and the Lexus LS/Mercedes-Benz S-class upfront. I love how my car looks, and only wish that those other cars did not exist so I wouldn't have to regularly get hassled by a few select individuals for its Xerox design cues coming from other manufacturers products. Whatever. I don't care.

But I am just going to be honest, and don't take this wrong to those this applies to..I realize I am new here and I in no way want to rub anyone the wrong way..but SOME of those winged badges that people are buying look soo terrible. I have seen a few I don't mind, but some just look terribly tacky and out of place. Just my thought. I wont rebadge or debadge my car, personally..just not into that. But I have seen a few tastefully done. Keep those up!

For me, rebadging the Genesis has a lot to do with enjoying some distinctive individuality. It doesn’t make it out to be anything other than a Genesis because the name is on the badge. Since the models in Korea are built with the wings, we aren’t trying to pull one over on folks either. I love replying to inquiring minds “This is a Hyundai.” It’s impressive to get a lot for your money.

I saw the Genesis at a car show last year and fell in LOVE with it. Before we bought mine, my husband found this forum and told me about the wings. So hubby ordered the wings and wheel caps online, but I did the rebadging.

Thanks to all the previous threads about how to do it, I felt really confident. If anyone plans to do it themselves, read the previous threads. BTW, dental floss broke, so I used the thin plastic coated craft wire to remove the flying H. With the first wing I used a razor knife to cut the mold tape from around the wings. The second one I found that with my sharp scissors, trimming around the outer part of the badge at a slight angle under, I got a smoother cut. Then I used the razor for notches and points.

When you put on the steering wheel badge, don’t use the extra 3M tape. It sits tight with the tape already on there. Don’t press hard. Our first little wing came in the mail bent, so they sent another one. But like I said, a whole lot has been written in previous threads about how to do it, so read them and watch the video.

Just yesterday a guy in an Acura parked next to me and admired what I got for the money. He actually recognized the Genesis wing right away and said that Genesis will be his next car. I swear he almost drooled….;)

ok thanks, i plan on buying one soon and i for sure want it rebadged...
thanks!

I love when people have no idea what kind of car it is. The look on their face is priceless when I tell them its a Hyundai.

I LOVE telling people that I own a Hyundai. It actually makes me feel better inside that I don't own a typical Mercedes or BMW. All my friends care a bout is "brand status". Not me!

...and for that matter, everyone here on this forum doesn't care about "brand status" wing logo or not! We all bought the same car for the same reasons regardless.

If I ever see another Genesis on the road I'll make sure to wave, even if they have the "flying H" logo!

I've always liked the idea of a "sleeper" car. Adding the winged badges does that to the Hyundai. It also, looks better, IMHO, than the Hyundai flying H. I wasn't planning on putting on the front emblem...liked the "clean" look without it but my wife really likes it and I've noticed Mercedes and BMW's with a their logos in a similar spot. Also, it looks a bit generic without it....like a store brand. The wings remind me of an Aston.

I have not purchased a Genesis yet, I'm waiting to see the 2011s after they introduce the Equus. Nice, but they're going to be more than I can afford.

Anyway, I digress. If the dealership has not already done the rebadging, yes I plan on having it done. Here is why. Prior to my cousin hearing me talking about getting a certified pre-owned Lexus I had never heard of the Gensis. Several weeks later I was out getting my Saturday morning bagel and coffee when I saw this beautiful (my mind said, "Yes, once again Pam you're eyeing something expensive) black car. I waked over to it and took a peek inside. I then walked to the back of the car looking for the maker. Nothing. I saw Genesis, but said to myself, "Mike (my cousin) said Hyundai made the Genesis. This isn't a Hyundai, this car is way too nice, sleek, and luxurious looking to be a Hyundai. Why in the world would two companies have the same name for a car?".

Now it's even later, and I've done much research on the car and I've test driven it three times. It's still not a luxury car because it's missing a lot of luxury car features, but for the price, look, and feel I think I can settle on the side mirrors not automatically closing when the car is turned off, or the nav system only being limited to being just that (there's no voice commands to change the tempature, no voice commands to help find the nearest restaurant, and there's no uploading of CDs so you have to carry your CDs and/or iPod in the car).

I must admit, I've seen the car with "H", I don't like it. That "H" seriously takes away from the car. And it's not that it means Hyundai. It's just takes away from the curb appeal. So, all that is to say, I want people seeing my car and saying, "Wow!! That's sweet!!", and taking that walk around it trying to figure out who makes it and me walking up to the car with a big grin to hear them say, "sweet car! who makes it? To which I'll reply, "yes, it is sweet, drives nicely (I hope I get the 8-speed transmission one - that's what I'm waiting for), it's by Hyundai". They're mouth drops nearly to the ground and I get in my car beaming all the way to my next destination.

I did everything on my own except the air bag. I had it installed by a dealer.

This is gorgeous! Sometimes it's the small details that make a dramatic difference in perception and appearance. The Genesis models should have come to the US with these KDM specific badges in the first place instead of the mundane Hyundai badges.

FYI - from what litttle I can see of the grille on the 2011 - this subject line may end up dead in the water. I'm guessing what's hidden in the photos is a big fat italitized H. If that is the case putting the Genesis wings on the car would be quite tacky.

Looking at the photos of the grille for the 2011 Genesis, there's a hint of there possibly being an italitized H on the grilled. If that's the case, unless there's a really nice and tactless Genesis wing fornthe grille, it seems
the H will remain untouched.

Do I see a front side view camera in the middle vertical potion of your front grill?

I guess that is just the front and rear deck rebadging?

I really dont think it is a matter of "hiding" what we are driving. After all, the wing logo is the ORIGINAL logo designed to go on the car in the first place.

I love it because more people ASK what kind of car it is...when I say Genesis...they go crazy. There is nothing like looking in your rear view mirror and see a suv full of people reading the words GENESIS in the wing logo and watching their reactions!!! Heck...I even went as far as to remove GENESIS and just leave the 4.6 there all by itself.

To each his own. :)

LOL, Pingg! I had that very thing happen to me Saturday. This Malibu pulled up behind me on US 17, four-lane, and everyone in the car was looking. Then the driver pulled around quickly and had obviously told everyone on the right-hand side of the car to look at the hood emblem and tell he who made this car. They were very puzzled and nearly freaked out craning their necks to get NOTHING from the front of the car!

I have the steering wheel, trunk lid and wheel covers re-badged. I guess I like the lines of the front just as they are. ;)
