If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. So, I bought my Genesis coupe back in 2016, new and the dealer told me there wasn't no updates the times I brought it back in for service. I googled around and see there are some new updates that add Android Auto and such, this would be very welcome. The UI is meh and the GPS/Nav is so slow to load sometimes I am on the road and still have no access while it's loading. I downloaded the Navigation install program from Hyundai and it's linked to my Genesis, I use a brand new Sandisk Pro 32GB SD card and I let the software dump the install on that card. I tried to use that SD card to upgrade and it tells me the card has corrupted update data (i've tried this twice). The card seems to be fine and supports the speeds it advertises.

Even the photo above recognizes the correct update on the SD card, so I don't believe it is corrupt.

My car currently shows this:

The only update I ever bought was the map update in 2016, because Hyundai refunded me for the purchase because I told them it was lame to buy a brand new car and on day 1 to get outdated maps. They did send me a check. It was a ridiculous price at $150 or more dollars. I would rather use Google Maps since it would have construction, delays and other instant updates.

I'm taking my car to the dealer for a airbag recall and I asked them to update it for me, so this may be moot by tomorrow, but I would still like to do this myself in the future and not need to rely on the dealer. Thanks for any help.

That's the same software as offered at myhyundai. Same one I took a pic of above (1st pic). It detects my car/VIN and says there is an update, but it won't work in my vehicle. I just got back from the Hyundai dealer and asked them to update the dash and they said there are no updates offered.

This website says otherwise: How to download Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for 2016 and 2015 Hyundai Genesis

Which is true?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
So the answer I got from Hyundai's Bluelink support team was that you need to buy the mapsoft Navigation update to get the entire update (apps, maps, etc). I ordered it from this site: $25 +18 shipping to send it to me.

The shipping is a complete sham given it's essentially an SD card with MAYBE some paperwork, but whatever, my current maps were last updated in 2016 so even if it ends up being maps only, it's worth it. Still, this doesn't explain why I couldn't use the navigator software to download onto my own SD card. As long as I get Android Auto and some updated maps, i'll be satisfied at this point (considering the hours I have wasted on this).

It's lame the dealership didn't even know this. When I brought it up to the guy in the service dept he told me in all his years of working there he never heard this.... sounds like Hyundai needs to issue better training materials on the software portion of today's vehicles and how Hyundai approaches it.

UPDATE: My card shipped from a location that is about 5 miles from me. $18 was the cheapest option to ship an SD card and probably a leaflets worth of info on the installation.... thanks Hyundai.

and I just finished the update and no, I don't have Android Auto or Apple's app installed. So essentially multiple websites claiming Genesis cars for 2016 got the update just flat out lied? I'm done wasting my time on this. Super lame Hyundai. Hopefully this version of maps for the Genesis coupe is better than what came in 2016 (not just accuracy issues).

I understand that some have hacked the system to add android auto and apple .

Well, had my 2015 Premium for 2 weeks now and will try the nav update. Not sure when or if it has ever been updated as I bought it from an older fella who wasn't very computer savvy with 022 as the last digits of the S/W version. Wish me luck !!

Update !! No luck updating with DL from website. Same as Sisko said "corrupt or missing" If buying update SD from Hyundai doesn't have Android Auto is it worth it ??? Was there anything new other than map updates?

More research told me there is NO update for Genesis coupe you can DL. That's why in the Nav Updater it shows the pic of a sedan and why the corrupt error comes up. Only option for coupe is to order the pre programmed with updates SD card. Looked into and $30 Cnd for card and $37 Cnd for shipping not sure if I'm gonna pull the trigger ??
