  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Huddleston's Build Thread

Nice looking shots there. Good work.

Took the Genesis in for an alignment and tire balance and decided to knock out the first oil change as well. Getting the car ready for a trip to Vegas for SEMA in three weeks.

I want to wrap the car in a color similar to Nardo grey (pictured below), but that will be coming after the modifications I mentioned previously. The wrap would provide some nice paint protection in addition to looking unique.

Love the Nardo Grey wrap color, have also seen it called Battleship. Perfect color IMO.

Please tell me they are paying you for that

not at all. I have a long standing relationship with the company. I have their wheels on my Shelby GT500 as well. They did take good care of me when it came time to purchase the wheels so I don't have a problem with them using my car to promote their products. Its also good publicity for the media company.

I really want to get the Genesis sedan platform out there more in the car community. As a result of my build many vendors and tuners have seen the potential for this car to look great. I will be driving the car to SEMA to meet a few people and get even more publicity for the brand and the Genesis line. In 2016 the car will be indoors on display all week with a few more modifications.

I agree. My only decision will be on what color wheels to go with. Keep the matte gunmetal or possibly black or bronze.

Personally I'd skip the wrap. Your car & setup (drop, wheels, tint, etc) all look fantastic and the brilliant white paint makes it look especially impressive in displaying a very sharp contrast vs the tint and wheels. Going gray will reduce that contrast and while the color itself might get it a bit of attention - the Audi just doesn't "pop" the way your car does.

Your ride, your decision.... just my $.02 :)

+1 - the Audi looks terrible to me - like someone forgot to paint it and just sprayed clear coat over the primer!

6 of 1, half dozen of the other. Sounds like your relationship to said company is mutually beneficial. More power.

The only thing I wonder is, can the 3.8 (R or A wd) do the 20x10 in back, ie, is it the same car minus the motor.

JM2C, but if I knew I could fit the same wheels and tires as the 5.0 on the 3.8, done deal. Course the nooks get the awd 5.0 so . . . . . godamit....

I believe you can run the same tires. I ultimately boils down to offset which I believe in the same on the 3.8 and 5.0.

Thanks for the compliment. I originally chose everything to compliment the pearl white and I love the way the cars looks. For SEMA next year I think the plan is to get a custom wrap designed with a few company logos on it and apply it before heading out west. The wrap wouldn't be on the car long term, just something to grab attention for the show next year.

I applaud you for this wonderful thread!!! I feel the same as you do. The Genny needs more respect but not so much that it takes the quality away.

Check this picture out. Was at RoadAtlanta (Petit Lemans Racetrack) and had a sighting (I almost passed out as this is my favorite car in the world). The COLOR (hence Audi) I think would be 2000% killer on the Genny..

Keep up the good work and when you get tired of modding and your money, send me some LOL!

Interesting.

I am actually going to be in Houston for 2 weeks starting on the 25th. Sadly I will not have the Genny with me. I tried to get work to just cover my gas instead of mileage reimbursement (coming from Chicago) - but they insist on flying me and then shelling out a grand for a 2 week rental. Idiots.

Anyhow - you guys gonna be around? I will actually be getting together with another friend at some point while there - he lives in Houston, is a member of this board and owns a G1. He needs a little convincing to get into a G2. Hint hint nudge nudge. Plus I am looking for a damn good bbq in the area. :) Right now my favorite in TX is at Hard 8 in Dallas - but that's a long hike that I will not have time for since I am there for work.
