Here are some shots of the journey out west. Unfortunately towards the end of the trip a deer hit the side of my car in Oklahoma City. The car was absolutely perfect for a long trip like this and was very comfortable. The tires certainly did their job getting us through the snow in northern AZ. I will start another thread about SEMA and the other stops. Enjoy!

Great picts man! I was hoping you'd post some from your trip. I see you hit some snow along the way, did you get a chance to try out "snow mode" on the Genesis?

we did use snow mode for a brief period and I did notice a difference. The car stayed in lower gears longer it felt like, not sure what else it does but it certainly helped!

I've had that happen with jackrabbits while heading to Big Bend National Park, in south Texas (which has the distinction of being the only national park in the US with its own self-contained mountain range). The moronic creatures would be near the side of the road at night, see you coming, then panic as you approached and suicide right into the side of the car. And to make it that much unnerving, there are literally thousands of them seemingly waiting to dart in front of you at the last minute or to splat against your bumper. So what should be a relaxing, serene, leisurely drive through the desert, billions of stars peeking down on you through the moonroof as you cruise on a completely empty highway (so empty that it's not unusual to go 30-60 minutes without seeing another car), turns into a white-knuckled, clinched steering wheel endeavor.

I feel your pain! Two weekends ago I had an encounter with a deer on I95 just north of Charleston. I'm supposed to get the car back next Tuesday. This little Versa rental sucks, after being spoiled by my Genny!

How did the deer hit your car?

was in the middle of a major highway in the middle of OKC and just felt and heard something hit the car. I never even saw it. pulled off after it happened and could see some blood on the side of the car. The stupid animal managed to damage every body panel on my side of the car. this is the 3rd accident I have had with a deer, one in a previous car, one on my motorcycle which sent me to the hospital, and now this. I hate deer.

its extremely frustrating! it sucks anytime something happens to your car but at least with another person involved it was either my fault or theirs - with this there is literally nothing I could have done differently. I am really bummed, the money that was going to go towards another round of mods has to go towards getting the car fixed. :-(

Hendricks Collision center is going to be billing Allstate over $8000 for this one. I only ever saw the deer for a half second in my headlights, about 10 at night. Fortunately, I was only a quarter mile from an exit. Called AAA, said bring a flat-bed! Didn't even get any venison out of it!!

Imagine how they feel

It does suck - we have 10-15 hanging around our yard all the time and I've seen as many as 37 at one time (we have 4 apple trees and they love apples). I went 10 years in this deer infested area of central NJ without incident and then hit 3 deer in the space of 4 months 2 years ago (actually in 2 of those they hit me)!

I hear ya... this is from 2009. 3 weeks after I got this car - my then dream car - for a song.

I'm still just frustrated more than anything. Hopefully the car is fixed to a high degree of quality and it doesn't bother me too much. If I'm not satisfied I might just get the car wrapped or do a full paint job. Getting an estimate done Tuesday.

Finally got the estimate done on the damage from the collision with the deer. $7,558.00.

I really hate deer.
