Hyundai came thru - Messages on Premium NAV w/ update to 12.5

Just upgraded to the newest map update, 12.5 I believe. Hyundai came thru with an update to get texts thru the 9.2" Premium Nav system. It now shows the text messages on the screen, reads them out loud and allows you to say a reply. BIG upgrade for me and about time. Great job Hyundai!

go to mapnsoft.com order the update, they send you new SD and USB key and install. About 175 bucks.

Thank you very much I really appreciate that a 175 is a decent price to get that added messaging regard less of what other people might say especially for the ultimate edition Genesis

Since they cant incorporate Android Auto/Car Play they needed to do something!! Glad it worked out

Well I'm glad they did it because I was very disappointed to know that paying that much more money for the better to car would not give me android auto that was not very Good news so I'm pleased.

Now I may update my software. I like having text messages pop-up on screen on my Sony Android Auto head unit in my 2006 Caddy. Now I can actually have the feature in my 2015 car.

How good is the message reply process is it responsive like android auto.

You only have the option to read while in motion, you responded with preset messages that you can edit, but for reply I haven't tried with voice command or anything only thing so far is the 4 generic messages or type on your phone.

So I just spoke to the a rep at MapnSoft and they said they removed the update due to more testing on the new version. The map update was $175 with the new card but before s/h..it will be available again in a few weeks.

That's weird because I got a shipping confirmation in everything from mine supposedly it's on it's way now you're worrying me

When I check the website, it tells me no update available but it did tell me it was a couple of weeks ago. I'll wait for version 13 and hopefully, it has the new street my new house is on by the time I move in.

I'm curious as to why the text message needs to be displayed on screen. Wouldn't that be a distraction from driving that's no different from looking at your phone screen?

No, just ask anyone that texts and drives and they will tell you they are not distracted. Its the other guy that gets killed in the accident.

Oh ok, I get it now. So basically the other drivers need to text and drive too so they'll have better odds.
