Thanks for this info! Everything except the .md5 file was in the download, but I had it in a Data subfolder on the USB drive. I will put everything where it goes and try the upgrade this evening. Here's the folder contents - There are some disk images in HU that I was unable to open

My didn't "ask" for the USB stick while upgrading, I think that it'll prompt you if it's needed. Thanks for this info! Everything except the .md5 file was in the download, but I had it in a Data subfolder on the USB drive. I will put everything where it goes and try the upgrade this evening.

Mine just ran it off the SD card...The update didn't work. I got "USB device not supported." Just to make sure, I tried with 2 separate USB drives. I wonder what checksum that md5 file is holding.
One odd thing: the old software seems to read the new map data. I see new roads around my house that were missing on the old map.
Could you share the contents of the md5 file? Should be a fairly small text file. Here's the folder contents - There are some disk images in HU that I was unable to open

Beats me. I saved the files to an SD card and put it back in. You can use the existing SD card in the car. The download program puts them on it for you if you choose to do so.Okay, I'm back to trying to update my nav and I've run into the USB issue. I downloaded the update from MyHyundai.com today and saved the files to a formatted USB drive.
The screen on the software update says to plug in the "SD card" before going to the settings menu and selecting Update.
I've searched through the user manual and the separate audio system quick reference book, but there's no clue as to where the USB thumb drive goes. So, assuming the update has been saved correctly, how and where do you plug it into the vehicle?
Right up front. Black cover on the lower part of the radio. Toughest part is to pop it off. Use a knife blade or very thin screwdriver. And the next question is..where in car is the current SD car for the navigation? fuse box? glove compartment? Anybody got a diagram?
Can I assume you have the 8" screen? After several trips to Office Depot to get a 32gb SD card, I downloaded the update from Hyundai's software updater and loaded the data. When the car started it 'Failed to Authenticate navigation" and wiped out the nav feature altogether. I had to put the old SD card back in. What causes this error message?
I don't have the Option 3 upgrade so I downloaded the2014 2016 Genesis (8 inch Touchscreen) update. Did I pick the wrong setting?
Oh, and when I tried to register my car on the nav app, it said the vehicle couldn't be registered, despite the fact that my VIN is listed on my sign-in. Is the car ineligible for a nav map update?
I know I have the 8" screen. When I opted for the 9 inch in the nav updater, it superimposed an image of the secondary controller, which my car doesn't have. I suppose I can try to re-save the data to the SD card, but, at this point, I feel like I've wasted an entire day and I don't feel like pouring more hours into it. I may call Hyundai instead and see what they say.Can I assume you have the 8" screen?
I have no idea why it would not be registered with your VIN.
Did you use the program to write to the SD card? If not, do it again and let the program load the card as you may have an an error.
If none of that helps, perhaps you can call for some assistance as it is beyond me.
Sorry to hear that...only because I received an email that Bluelink Services will end in December 2022.So I finally made some progress on this by contacting the folks at the MyHyundai site. I couldn't register the vehicle because I bought it pre-owned and they still had it registered to the original owner. I sent them the bill of sale and some other info and it's been updated. That means I can now opt for Bluelink services.
I ordered the nav map update & Apple Car Play upgrade from the Hyundai Auto Ever site. $25 plus S & H.
The SD card arrives tomorrow. They said there's a 50/50 chance it may not work on my car (no details were given as to what the critical criterion is) so I'm cautiously optimistic.
Genesis will contine with blue link.Sorry to hear that...only because I received an email that Bluelink Services will end in December 2022.
At least that's what the email says.
