Hyundai Genesis 3.8L V6 - Gas Mileage

We just got home from the second half of the trip and my car's computer was displaying 29.0 mpg. I filled it up and did a manual check and it turned out to be 27.5 actual - still very good but not what the computer was displaying. I'll be checking it a few more times in the coming weeks and will keep ya posted on what it's looking like.

That discrepancy between the computer and actual mileage has been normal for the Genesis since day one.

This is the corollary to the car sales dictum: "It's not whether the customer actually gets a good deal as to whether he is happy, it's whether he thinks he got a good deal."

27.5 pretty damn good for an AWD 4500 pound car. What was your average speed?

As fast as I could go without getting caught. Seriously, probably 80-ish. In most states we travel through 80 is pretty much the norm so I'm comfortable just going along with the fastest traffic I can blend into and still be driving safely.

I have a 2015 V6 AWD with just over 2000 miles and I average a little less than 26 on a 50/50 mix of highway and city driving. Not as good as my Volt but I can't complain because the Genesis is an extremely comfortable car in every respect. I replaced my Lexus LS430 with the Genesis so I know quiet quality.

It is calculated. I don't pay any attention to the displayed mileage and frankly I couldn't tell you what it says.
