  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Starting this month we have a new question to measure, as objectively as possible, the severity of a problem. Many people have been asking for reliability stats that weight problems by how severe they are, and once we have enough responses with the revised survey we'll start providing this.

Also this month: updated reliability stats.

e have updated results for the Genesis to include owner experiences through September 30, 2010. Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the months since April until the summer or even fall of next year.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009 sedan: 48

2010 sedan: 44

Both are about average.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

2009 sedan: 66, < 1

Hyundai Genesis Lemon-odds and Nada-odds

We'll have further updates in February and May. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

Just saw this, this morning so signed up. No repairs to date but will be taking '12 R-spec in later this month to have dealer install up to date nav map (car was delivered with old version although it seems to be working fine).

Not sure if that qualifies as a genuine "repair" or not.

I truely dont know how you can be on all the forums all the time and still manage the truedelta site.

As always best of luck !

Ppp

Thanks for joining!

No, we don't consider map updates as repairs. This car was produced before the latest update?

I don't know the production date. It was delivered 12/3/2012. The most current map was April of 2012.

I'm in also:D

I would sign up again, and certainly believe in the project and what not, but I kept getting too many emails with my previous car.

"Log on today."
"Your log-on is 13 days overdue"
"DO IT NOW!"

I know that's not what the notifications sounded like, but it eventually felt like I was at my job. If I sign up for an online community, I want to do it on my own terms. I got enough deliverables in my life already.

Good luck though.

It's changed. I signed up both cars in 2011, and have not experienced any such tyranny. The new format is easy and lets you update in seconds and then move on.

We've cut back on the reminders in the off-months, so they're only sent frequently in the month following the end of the quarter and not in the other two. But many people respond with the first email each quarter, and so never see any of the follow-ups.

As Ruissimo noted, the emails are not actually worded as he wrote, but he's not the only person to perceive them that way. Others perceive the same emails as begging too much. So I hear from some people that the emails are too strong, from others that they're too weak!

Some people do feel that we should just let people respond when they happen to get around to it. But few would ever actually get around to it. In an off-month, when we don't send reminder emails, we get about 20 responses a day, and many of those are from brand new members. Our current coverage is based on over 25,000 responses per quarter. That's not happening at 20 per day.

Sounds good, then. As I said, the more data, the better. I certainly believe in THAT!

Maybe I'll give it another go.

If you responded at all earlier, the account will still be here, just deactivated. Shoot me a PM or email with the email address you used and I can easily reactivate it. This way there will be no need to start from scratch.

Once the leather drivers seat problems take hold, the 2012 and 2013 numbers of repairs per 100 will go through the roof. Also, based in the reports of multiple service tickets on this issue will also boost this. Hyundai needs to get ahead of this.
