Hyundai spinning off Genesis into Luxury brand

spoke to a Genesis rep at the NY Int'l Auto show this weekend he said the brand will separate from Hyundai and go on it's own within next couple of months . The prices will go up slightly and warranty will be a little better than current.
Supposedly will not take a Hyundai Genesis for service at their dealership because it wasn't purchased there . WTF

That doesn't seem to make sense, since everything that Hyundai has said is that Genesis brand will be sold at existing Hyundai dealers for the time being. If a dealer wants (or is required) to set up two different service orgs, one for Hyundai and one for Genesis, at the same physical dealer location, then I guess you just have to go to right one at that dealership.

But Hyundai dealers are not going away, so I don't see a problem if someone has a Hyundai Genesis and needs service.

I have a 2015 Genesis Ultimate and I bought it at the dealership I get it serviced. When I roll up into the service bay they are johnny on the spot to open my door and welcome me by name. It truly is an experience the other car owners don't get. I'm sure they get good service, but I can tell they are top notch to me and I appreciate it. I cant imagine what they are going to do when I roll up in a 2017 G90
