  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I got a Genesis today!

I love the emblems. I got them at http://www.koreanautoimports.com/st...7_238&osCsid=a1101d366369e03330dd943c51fe6006. As far as leasing goes, I wouldn't worry about it honestly. I had a 2002 Passat that I leased and put a Euro 1.8T badge on the back and they didn't say a word when turning it back in. Even if they did, it would take less than 15 minutes to remove both emblems. You will need a blow dryer to heat up the adhesive and make it pliable, dental floss to slide under the badges and gently cut through the adhesive, and some wax/polish to remove any remaining residue. Keep in mind that removing the back badge will expose 2 holes in the trunk so you will have to replace it with an "H" emblem. GrandPrix also posted a video of another method of badge removal....it's pretty easy IMO.

One thing I have noticed is that the emblems I received are slightly different then what I've seen on KDM cars. At first I thought it was lighting, but after reviewing pics of the KDM Genesis with my car above they are in fact different. The wings on my emblems slope upward, whereas the one's in Korea seem to be more horizontal/flat at the top. They show both styles on Korean Auto Imports (link above), but here are a couple pics. I wonder why there are two styles? Strange.

As for the windows, they are tinted 35% all around. Not as dark as I'd like, but I wanted the front to match the rest of the car and the legal limit on the front is 35%. :)

In regards to the Genesis logo - it reminds of how Buick promoted the Riviera with the "R" logo instead of the Buick one... Check out the attached images. I think this is what Hyundai should have done rather than no logo on the front and a Hyundai logo on the back.

Much better with the tint.. And the badges may be slightly different to avoid copyright and/or trademark issues. That is if they're not coming directly from Hyundai...

jwaters,
Not to pry in your business or anything, but can I get just an estimate as to how much your monthly payments are? I know it all will be diff't depending on credit and other factors. I just want to get an idea of how much a real person is paying monthly versus an online calculator. If you'd rather not, then that's ok, I understand the need for privacy.

You guys could always use private messaging for stuff you don't want out in public...

Okay guys, I know this is a bit silly, but I'm looking for ideas on a personalized plate.

So far the best I've come up with is LVMYGEN. We're limited to 7 characters.....any suggestions?

Genesis :)

It's taken already. :(

How about ALPHA? It's a synonym for Genesis.

Whoa! If this conversation continues, I will be forced to ask jwaters943 to turn in his man-card!

Jwaters,

When you bought your Genesis, did they have both the Titanium Gray and Platinum Metallic in stock? I see you bought the Titanium Gray and am curious of your impressions of the Platinum Metallic too.

Our PDI tech actually mounted the front license plate bracket on the first Genesis that came in!!! I told him not to do another one unless the customer wanted it. If i just spent 40k i sure wouldnt want an ugly, bulky bracket sticking out of the front of it.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I agree.. If a front plate isn't needed, don't mess with the front bumper..

Well fellas, I just got home after a long day....got up at 6 a.m., drove 2 hours to Roseville Hyundai (which bills itself as the largest Hyundai dealership in California), and to make a long story short, I picked myself up a little present.....

Hey jwaters,

I went out to the Rosevill Hyundai website, and they show 19 Genesis vehicles on their lot! I hadn't heard of anybody having that many yet, but what caught my eye was that they show all of them with MSRP of $33K to $36K except one with an MSRP of $40K. They do not list the trim. For all vehicles they say to "call for trim". But the MSRP of $40K should be a V6 with Tech package, which would be the first one I've heard of on a dealer's lot anywhere. Have you spoken with any of your buddies at Roseville lately? Do you know if they have a vehicle with Tech Package? Thanks.

Here are some digitally manipulated Genesis images (mainly of my Genesis). Enjoy! :)

Those pictures would make some cool signatures.. Photoshop?

Photobucket :)

Nice and easy.

I believe someone asked me if I had any unusual reactions to the Genesis. Well, yesterday I was having lunch with my friend and my car was parked out front (the entire front of the restaurant is windows and my car was clearly visible). Well, some guy was out jogging and literally stopped in his tracks once he saw the Genesis. He peaked in the window, looked at it from every angle and just generally oogled it for a good minute before moving along. It was quite the sight! :P
