Things are becoming more curious re: Genesis. Ed Voyles reports that while he was in training the instructor stated that they were having problems making the Cruise Control work properly, limited to that phase that will slow the car down without appying the brakes when the vehicle in front of the Genesis slows down.
There is one other concern. I have recently come into possession of a Genesis brochure and it states that car has a cooled and heated drivers seat. It is stated in the singular and doesn't say that the front passenger seat is also heated. It simply says "drivers seat ". Ed, did you learn whether the passenger seat is heated? If not I am concerned. My wife has gotten used to having her tush warmed up in our Caddy. She would vigorously object to a Genesis if it lacked that feature. It probably has the feature, therefore they should better edit their brochure so as to not mislead readers. By the way our local Hyundai dealer told me that these brochures are available at most dealers. It is a teaser that does not have nearly the information that this forum and the Hyundai web site have, but it is better than nothing.
It's great to have Frank (EdVoylesHyundai) here to keep us in the loop.I do hope the Genesis didn't get pushed back to August...
3. It is my opinion that you, Hyundai, are poised to be the next Honda. Reliability isn't very sexy but will sell cars like no other. Just ask Toyota or Honda. And as far as the warranty... have you seen the movie "Tommy Boy"? The line goes something like this.
"Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me."
The other good quote from Tommy Boy. "Fat man in a little coat. Fat man in a little coat."
Unknown Owner,
May I ask what planet your from? If you are from this earth you must live on the east or west coast. What dealership in their right mind sells Hyundai's "ABOVE RETAIL PRICE"?
My god man I have never paid more than invoice price and sometimes below that! Maybe I am lucky I live in the mid west. You know people complain about "Hyundai Dealerships". Well around here they are sold with other makes.
We have several major cities within 100 miles of me. One sells Hyundai, Cadillac, Chevy, and Buick. Another that sells Hyundai, Ford, and BMW. Another that sells Hyundai, Suburu, and Mazda. And lastly one that sells Hyundai, and Honda. Now then since each dealer sells mutiple brands that must mean that Chevy, Ford, BMW, Honda, Suburu, Mazda, Cadillac, and Buick dealers all suck then to since its the same people selling them all!
Everyone of these dealers will discount very nicely although I have one that I buy from that does the best overall job of this. Another kind of neat thing is about 4 times a year they send me free oil change coupons. I think that's kind of cool.
Next your probably going to tell me the dealers around you don't let you have any of the pretty good rebates they have going on now for several of their models. Oh well like I said I do feel lucky!!!
