  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Clicked on this link this morning and wasted my time reading what I can only call words on a page. No attempt to review the car just contained biased opinions without any facts. But then I decided to scroll through the comments which contain some entertaining comments bashing the so called writer. Thought some of you would get a kick out of the article and comments.

Critics' Notebook: 2016 Hyundai Genesis

I think Brett’s efforts are best served reviewing something more meaning full for him like “Why have different color jelly beans and what does it mean?”.

After their review of the 2015 Genesis (done by an employee of an ad-agency representing Toyota), it almost makes one wonder if Yahoo has a bias against the Genesis.

this was initially published on www.thedrive.com

I read it this morning - very lame.

What would we expect from a guy with this bio?

http://brettberk.com/bio/

I guess we would expect something along the lines of his claim to fame in journalism, the masterpiece "A Gay Uncles Guide to Parenting". Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against gay people. My daughter is gay and I love her and her partner. My problem is that this guy is obviously trying to use the "shock value" of his sexuality to sell books. Most gay people just want to be treated as though their sexuality isn't something that should identify them, like a persons skin color shouldn't prejudice a persons identity. I wonder if he would have found a publisher if his book was titled "A White guys guide to parenting"?

And what is his pedigree in the automotive world? Let's see he's been a professional student, a school teacher, wrote some kids books, and now he's a freelance journalist (translation... unemployed). So he has no experience in the automotive world. I'd be willing to bet $1,000 that this guy doesn't even know how to change the oil in a car. I mean really... he starts his comparison by referencing his last drug experience. And he doesn't even know his vehicle classifications... there is no such thing as a "near luxury" class. The Genesis is in the Executive/mid size Luxury classification. And then the moron goes on to say "if the competitive set were to include Buick, Acura, Infinity"... Those are manufacturers not models. And they all have models in the Genesis classification. I drove all of those cars and I decided on the Genesis, price was a consideration but it's also a better car than most in its class (the A6 made the decision tough though).

What a smuck.

How can anyone take a review seriously when his first sentence is this? Five words in and I already know it's going to be a biased review.

I’m not a Hyundai person.

I don't know if the article was biased on not, because the author's writing was almost totally incoherent - a quite common thing nowadays

Although the last sentence did say that you get a lot of car for the money.

Articles like this are all over about many subjects. The idea is to come up with a title that will attract page views. The article means nothing, all he wanted was traffic to the page which makes him some incremental money from the page advertisers. And by going there we have all put money in this jerks pocket.

Correct. This is a good read on internet journalism. Trust Me, I'm Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator
