  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So do you guys/gals think this is a good product or just a gimmick? My car was hit buy an enthusiastic door opener and I had to have the dents taken out and then repainted. To the tune of around $450... I also had another dent on my front right fender which was an insurance claim.

I was thinking, if this product was on my car it might have been avoidable. I don't really understand the LED part of it.

Those are way too gaudy and too expensive. You can get paint-matched door moldings for the Genesis for much less: http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?p=24586

Also, the how useful the moldings are depends on where your door was hit. If the other door (or whatever) hits higher or lower than where you place the molding, it won't make any difference.

Thanks for link to the other thread. Doesn't look to bad..... although it seems I'm a bit late to the party.... should have thought about this before parking at a big box retail store!!!

UGLY! HORID! Totally non-functional unless you park next to a monster trucker who carelessly opens his door.

Please don't ruin the look of your car by putting on that... thing.

Dan

haha. you guys are funny. I bet that projects 3/4" to 1" off the door.

The humanity! You could try th doordefender it's not perfect, but at least you don't have to stick anything permanent to the car. I avoid all walmarts, costco, targets with the Genesis. I end up driving my other car more because of it. It's kinda silly, but, I don't trust half the people with absolute sh*t boxes to care one bit about my car cause it's clear they don't care about theirs.

Me too. We take our older cars to the scariest places...like the kid's high school, or the farmer's market. I also look for end spots in parking lots, where I can wedge against the side with no car.

I'll sell used tires and string them arounf the car like a tugboat- about as attractive!

I was thinking boat bumpers... haha.

While I was down in Phila PA last weekend I saw a handful of cars on the highway with aftermarket rubber "bumpers" on the front and back of the cars. I said to myself, "is it really that bad down here that people need to be that proactive?".

NYC metro drivers have them all over their bumpers, which is silly because, once removed- or even the cost and labor to put on, one could get a decent re-paint on the scuffed bumpers. They are ugly.

I think they also protect the vehicle they may be hitting while parking
