  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just finished switching out the bulbs in the doors and footwells with LED bulbs by Sylvania. Much better, since now all the interior illumination is with LEDs. (Except for the vanity mirrors. I'll leave those incandescent.)

I think I know the reason Hyundai put the blue vinyl boots on the footwell lights: they were trying to match the hue of the LED dome lights. Of course, it didn't work. All it did was make the footwell lights so dim you almost didn't even know they were there. With the LEDs down there, the footwells are brightly lit now. :D

This was literally the first thing I did the day I brought the car home, though I'm far too poor for all Sylvania lights. ;) The tag lights were done with Sylvania bulbs, and the rest are ChinaPartStoreEbayAmazon caliber 194 bulbs, save for the trunk LED panel.

No clue why they'd skimp on something so trivial, but that's Hyundai for ya.

Edit: Don't be scared of the vanity lights! ;)

Whatever helps get the eyeliner on straight, I guess. :p
Wife demands uber-bright vanities. The only time my side has been on was to test polarity (and blow out the Room Lamp fuse). I avoid looking at my ugly mug.

Just replaced the license plate bulbs with Sylvania LEDs. I'm done with lighting mods for now (though I'm flirting with the idea of installing the illuminated "Genesis" doors sill plates.)
