Lost all sound, stereo, cd player & Nav 2011 Equus Signature

This afternoon my wife and I were leaving the North part of Houston after Doctor's appointments and stopped for a bite. After about 45" got back to the car and started home and noticed no sound from the stereo, cd player or nav system. We tried everything but could not get sound, car has just over 11000 miles. We stopped at Hub Hyundai on Katy Freeway and caught George in Equus Service Department before he left for the evening and explained our problem. He opened the driver side door and removed the cover on the fuse box located on side of driver side dashboard and pulled the big YELLOW fuse and put it back into place and everything came back to life. He told me that it was a glich that Hyundai had discovered, but just removing and reinserting this fuse reboots the system??? Anyway I thought this might help a fellow Equus Owner if you run into this problem.

It has happened to twice in one year, it comes back on after half an hour.

This happened to me as well. At first it would come back after a bit, then stopped completely. My dealer replaced whole system and I haven't had an issue since ( except the nav still stinks)

Happen to me too. NO one at my dealership had a clue. After a half hour, back see thread on dead AV I posted.

Wow this happens to the Genesis also. I've had it happen several times with my 2012 3.8 Gensis Tech. My dealer has no idea why and since the audio was present when I had them check there isn't anything to check...thanks for the tip and if this ever happens again I'll give it a try. There is a TSB for the pre 2012 Genesis (not sure if it applies to the Equus). I'm patiently waiting for a fix.

Had to pull out the fuse last night. This is something that should be fixed.

Yes it should be fixed. We know Hyundai is aware of the issue. One caveat : the "fix" may introduce undesirable side effects like a loss of some nav/audio functions and loss of audio performance.

Stereo locked up again. Pulled fuse, everything works. This is not good. Obviously there is a software problem.

I've had the same problem twice. Both times the system has reset after the car was shutdown. Two additional times the audio system has just changed modes, ie Sat radio to FM without driver input. Now on to my trunk opening problm...

tried the "yellow fuse" but did not help my issue. Lost pairing of phone but can pair each time I start the car!! Tech will look at it on Friday at Hub Hyundai but will likely need a new radio! I have 2011 Signature.

We are told these issues occur with other "premium" vehicles...right. Well my Genesis is probably not the last car I'll buy and you can be sure that I'll keep this stuff in mind next time around. Hyundai should pay attention and provide a solve or next time I'll head back to the tried and true

One thing I've learned is to take time and read the Internet forums for any car you have interest in...it's one way to get the "straight skinny" before buying.

I have the same problem about twice in three months, after replace some power amps MOSFET it never happen again.

I just had the exact same issue started the car and no sound anywhere on my 2012 Equus radio, nav or phone. Pulled the big yellow fuse inside the driverside fuse box and pushed it back in place. Turned the car on and the sound was back on the radio, Nav and BlueTooth phone. This was a great tip. I called my dealers service manager and passed the tip along. He was not aware of the fix and was very appreciative but said Hyundai had to have a fix for this. I made him make a note in my records of the issue for warrantee coverage of my head unit.

This should NOT be happening obviously!

Pulling the yellow 30amp fuse on the drivers side panel worked for me too! Thanks a million!!
