  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Magnaflow Cat-back Exhaust for the R-Spec

Thanks. 5.8 seconds? Figured it would be quicker stock and with the mods, even with your unscientific 0-60. I need to post the app for Android that knows when you start moving.. The it clocks you via GPS to a set speed defined. A buddy has that he says.

I have not found one for the iPhone I have.

It was cooler outside when I test and I occasionally had traction issues. There may even been a slight grade where I was testing too according to Google maps.

Now that I have a proper diameter intake, wider tires, and the full exhaust I'm anxious to see how the times have changed when testing in warmer weather. Maybe it'll be a Memorial Day test if I can't get out sooner.

I have the app on my iPhone (Pocket Dyno) that is supposed to time your 0-60 and quarter via GPS but it's always off by a half second or so. It will say something like 6.4s 0-60 and then I'll go home and review the video (unedited is important here) and get .5s+ faster on the replay.

Thanks for the app info call pocket Dyno.

I suggest you take any performance info you get from an device measuring with an acceleration with a grain of salt. And by taking it with a grain of salt I mean pretending you never downloaded the useless app.

Im sure he knows.

Its a basline to judge performance changes

With my mods, today I got 5.45s 0-60 without braking a sweat.

No brake torquing. I just left it in drive with the ESC off and punched it. Exact same spot as my previous runs using the same camera to film the speedo.

Oddly enough brake torquing and modulating the gas gave me much slower times. Even leaving it in Shiftronic and letting it shift itself was a few ticks slower than my best time with it in normal drive.

And you were in the 6s before the exhaust change?

5.86 was my best. Usually 5.9-6.0 was where I was at pre-exhaust.

I've also changed my intake to a true 3.1+" ID SRI since I first did this test. I was running a 2.7" ID intake which was too small according to my arm chair research.

sounds good, winds through the gears like a sports car

Got it. Breathes much better. I bet when rolling it pulls harder.

Great Read ... finally getting performance parts foir the sedan.

Questions:
#1 Can anyone confirm that the 15059 system for the Rspec will fit the 2011 4.6l. I know there is a system specific for the 2011 but all reports indicate that it drones. Do the OEM tips from the 2011 fit the Magnaflow 15059?

#2 I looked at both sites recommended as sellers but neither is in the $850-870 range. code IKED no longer works on one & the coupon code on the other returns a price of $966. I am in Canada so that may be why but I won't pay a $100 penalty if that is the case.

Thanks for any answers

The OEM tips are welded onto the OEM muffler. Depeding on where the muffler outlets run on the MagnaFlow kit the OEM tips may or may not line up.

If I had a 2009-11, I would buy the initially released Magnaflow system (PN 16497) and then buy a couple of cheap 12-15" 2.5" ID bullet resonators or glasspacks and add them to the same spot as 15059's built in resonators. That should give you nearly the same results.

Glasspacks are usually no more than $20-$25USD a piece so you're not piling on too much more cost. Otherwise, the shapes of the two systems are identical.

I believe the mufflers are also of a different design & I would be really PO'd if I ended up with the dreaded "DRONE" ... but thanks for the idea ... the 16497 system is a boatload cheaper...about $230 worth

If I can't get the 15059 tips to fit the stock 2011 fascia holes I'll either swap tips from OEM or put something trashy on .... if that's the only problem I will be a happy camper.

I just ordered the system from hot exhausts at the $866 price delivered in Canada....contacted "Crazy" but they wouldn't ship free to Canada but they did reinstate the code "IKED" to get the $850 price & shipping to continental USA if anyone else is interested.

When I get the system on I will report back. This may put some smiles on the faces of 2009-2011 4.6L owners.

I am considering the cat delete option also but will probably just have the 2 pipes & flanges done locally ... $110 plus shipping seems steep for the MSA version.

+1 - you won't be happy with the 15059, tips are going to give you huge problems...

Perhaps, but this may be worth a call to Magnaflow. The mufflers on the 15059 look like your standard oval shaped Magnaflow.

Stang:
Too late to cry now ... package on the way. Is the problem a length issue? Would putting in an extension after the muffler work? Guess I'll see the problem on Wed the 5th when package is supposed to arrive.
