  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Flamenquista, who you going to have install the exhaust kit? And please hurry up with that video after you get it in because you know I'm dieing to hear that beast roar :D

I'm going to a guy I looked up on Yelp. $100 bucks to install it. The parts come in tomorrow so I'll have them put on Friday.

Once I have video, I may need some help getting it up on here. I'm pretty techy but never posted videos. :-)

Alrighty, mine should be here tonight!!!!!

Im going to drop the car off at the shop on my way to work tomorrow and let him install it........unless I get frisky and decide to do it myself tonight...HA!

Flamenguista....how did your install go this weekend??

Everything went well! A few things to note:

1) There is a bracket underneath the car that will need to have washers added so that the new system doesn't rattle against it. This bracket is in place closer to where the cross over pipes are connected to the rest of the exhaust.

2) The folks at WorldMufflers were amazing! The guy asked me to bring the car back in about a week so he can readjust things one last time since the pipes will move around as it 'sets in'. Make sure to ask if the guy who is installing your will do the same. It will make a difference!

3) The car sounds amazing! Its pretty loud at lower RPMs but it sounds mean! I went to the US Open this weekend and A LOT of people were looking at my car as I drove through the parking lot. I had one guy ask me to roll down the window and ask me what car it was. The lady next to him said "It sounds GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

4) The dual tips fit perfect! They don't stick out at all and look very clean.

5) Make sure to keep your old system. :-)

6) I feel like the system has helped the car gain a bit more 'pick up and go'. Perhaps I'm crazy, but the car feels a bit quicker.

I'm going to take video tonight and some additional pictures. Will probably need helping loading them up. Will post later tonight when its all done.

Sorry for the random thoughts but figure what the heck! :-)

Hope everyone had a blessed Fathers day!

BTW - I'm still in shock as to how many people are in awe of this car.

Flamenguista,

What are your thoughts about the sound from inside the cabin? Too loud, Too quiet, just right? Any issues?

Can't wait for the video!

It does get loud through lower RPMs. Its a deep sound, muscle car like. It's actually trippi to hear a Hyundai sound like a supped up Mustang. At the end of the day it really boils down to personal taste IMO.

Awesome!!

I cant wait....so tonight I will install it myself. HA!

I've done it numerous times so this one should be no different. Ive got all the wrenches, some ramps, some washers (thanks FLAMENGUISTA), a torque wrench and plenty of WD40 to go around!

Hopefully, if things go well, I will have some video up by tomorrow afternoon!

Wish me luck! :-)

Cool! Tell me, cruising at 80 with the RPM's around 2000, is the drone pretty bad?

I don't have any drone at 80 mph when just cruising, but then again, my exhaust is pretty quiet unless your on the gas.

You guys sound like little school girls!:p

Well...you know, like....Yeah! HA!

We do...dont we! :D

Sorry, I really feel like I could pee in my pants right now...Im so excited!

Got my Magnaflow delivered yesterday, installed this morning.

I have just a few miles driving it, and so far so good. However, there is one point that the car seemed really loud, some a resonant frequency, If that keeps showing up, I'm going to consider taking them back off, but most of the time it sounded just as I wanted - a nice M-series throatiness. Haven't opened it up yet, looking forward to it later today.

Good install tips Flamenguista - I forgot about the washers when installing it, and we wrestled with the pipes trying to get them off that bracket for a good 10 minutes before I remembered them. (The original pipes have a flattened out section that keeps them off the bracket.) I'm also going to keep the original pipes, just in case the noise bothers me later. Have a long road trip coming up in 2 weeks, so should know after that if the pipes stay. :)

Sounds good 4.6!

Im picking mine up in 30 min.

I tried to do it last night on some ramps but Im just TOO FAT!

I have always done it on trucks and so the clearance was not an issue.

The car however, is a different story!

I gave him a baggy full of washers in case he needed them thanks to FLAMENGUISTA!!!

I really DO feel like I could wet my britches right now!!!! :)

ok...I will do everything I can to keep calm...I promise

...well...I lied:

HOLY SMOKES!!!

The Magnaflow ROCKS!!!

HA!:p

Here is the skinny (the fat will come tomorrow):

Low end (below 2000 RPM) is fairly loud in the cabin. Little bit of drone issue there. Cruising at 60 is fair and cruising at 80 is sweet!

Its weird to note that at wide open throttle its not loud at all.

I'm in love. However, my wife will never ride in the car again. She just doesn't understand.

According to my mechanic, the install took less than 30 min. The cost was $35.

IT SMOKES and my tips are BLACK already...due to the lubrication oil during the bending processes. This will burn off soon...and the tips just wipe clean.

Anywho, more to come!

Wow. I wonder which sounds better...Magnaflow or the Borla?
