  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,
I want to know what kind of modifications/customizations you guys have done or planning to do in future on your new Genesis?
So far, I have done rear badge, floor mats, front DRL Signal Lights changed. Just want to hear where i have room for improvements?
This is my first thread, so please redirect me if this post already exist. Thank you

This is the first car I've ever had that I didn't feel the need to "personalize" with mods. I've done a few minor ones, (badge, mats, etc.), but I'm definitely not in a hurry to do anything else. I even like the original wheels. :) IMO, Hyundai hit the nail on the head with this one.

I agree. Hyundai got this one pretty much right. Window tint, perhaps some vinyl on the front. I think the stereo/nav is excellent, there's not much to be done with the suspension if you have the continuous damping, not much need for an intake or exhaust work on this type of car.

The only thing I'm contemplating is a blend mount for the radar detector and hard wiring. Right now I'm using a Solo 2 which is OK as it eliminates wires but the protection is not as good as my other detector.

I did a hard wire on mine - it was pretty easy getting the wire to the fuse box from under the mirror invisibly.

only thing I want to do is reflash the car with something that removes this fu?cking nanny control come out hard of a corner car falls on face cars coming up on your ass . Anyone know if anyone made a tune on the 1st generation? Mac

Modifications made:

  • Automatic turn on of heated/cooled seats.
  • Automatic raising/lowering of rear sunshade when the car is shut off and started.

Modifications Desired:
  • Swap the decklid H for wings (part ordered)
  • Add a 3rd key fob (I have the part, just need to program)
  • Figure out how to get a modified sport mode. I want the suspension and transmission of the sport mode with the shifting of standard mode. Anyone know how to do this?

"Automatic turn on of heated/cooled seats." How did you do that?

Did you go with the blendmount?

No, I have an Escort in each vehicle with their "Sticky Cup" mount with the wire run along under the edge of the headliner and down under the A-pillar weather strip to the fuse box. The only part that's visible is the wire at the detector where it leads up to the headliner.

I spliced a wire into the heat, cool and power wires on the switch in the console. I added a 150 ohm resistor onto the power wire to mimic the resistor in the switch. I then added a Directed Electronics 528T timer to delay the trigger of the heated seat switch. I then added a second timer to automatically close either the heated or cooled switch for about 2 seconds (a separate manual toggle switch selects heat, cool, or neither).

So, basically the circuits do the equivalent of pressing the heat or cool switch for 2 seconds after the vehicle is started.

I have attached a wiring diagram.

Now if I could only figure out how to prevent the change in transmission shifting change when sport mode is selected.

Do you think it's possible to do this for the sunroof shade also. So it opens when the car starts and closes when you turn the engine off. That's something I would like.

I tinted the windows, shaved the Hyundai logo and all identifications off the trunk, added a 10" Memphis sub/500w Memphis amp, and am looking for an intake and very mild exhaust.

The sound system just didn't have the range I wanted. :(

Tinted windows a must! I also Clear Bra'd 1/4 of the car. Entire hood clip, front pillars, etc. EAS out of Colorado Springs does AMAZING work. Also had dealer but on Genesis badge in rear. First thing anybody should do.

I think the sound of this car is amazing, but NEEDS a sub. Not ported or anything, something crisp. That will be my next upgrade, but it can wait a while.

I love ECONOMY mode on the highway, especially long drives. You can mash the pedal and it gives you just the right amount of exceleration.

Ohhh... as a 5.0 owner in Colorado Springs, put some BLIZZAKS on my car for winter. Not a cheap purchase, but am actually excited for it to snow here.

LOVE THIS CAR!

Where are you guys getting the rear wings? From the dealer? What are they charging and how is it swapped out?

I got 35% tints done. Changed my factory 4300k HID to OSRAM CBI 5500k HIDs. Changed front turning signal to VLED triton to match rest of the car. I have escort x50 silver with mirror tap yet to be installed but waiting for passport max to come in.
Oh... a dash cam hardwired.

I am thinking about HIDs too. So, the one you ordered, is it brighter than existinng one. and where did you buy those and how much you paid. Also i am instrested in Sill Plates. Just need feedback on those too.

The dealer can do the sill plates - or you can buy and install yourself. The directions on how to install the illuminated sill plates are available on the Hyundai Subscription-based Tech website ($20 for 1 week access - and you can print what you need/want). The site is at:
