  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Modifications done on Genesis 2015

I want to install my sub and amp into my new genesis but my friend sketched me out by saying, "you dont want to mess up the electronics in a car like this". Any particular way I should get it installed?

I use to go to a place in the valley in California, I am thinking I should maybe go somewhere more known like best buy. I was thinking to avoid touching the head unit, is it possible to just hook it all up in the trunk by disconnecting the sub installed and using these connections?

I can't speak for the guy at the valley, but I had mine done at Best Buy and was satisfied with the results. He didn't need to mess with the head-unit at all; it was all done in the trunk.

How much did it cost you? Guy in valley use to charge me 99$ for install and wiring kit

It was a couple hundred bucks (less than three). $99.99 for the labor, $109.99 for the wires/cables (sold as a kit) $15 for a ground loop isolator (no idea why he needed this, but he said he did), plus Uncle Sam's cut.

I went to best buy yesterday to talk to someone about it. After waiting in the department for about 10 minutes no person in site I gave up. Pulled my phone out looked up a shop down the road I have heard great things about and found a coupon for 198$ for the price of 99$. Going their on monday to check it out.

Curious, did you need a hi lo converter to connect your amp and sub to the existing sub in the trunk?
