Honestly, which looks best out of all these?

Did anyone else notice the front end raise then lower between the 2:25 and 2:30 minutes:seconds mark?

Sorry guys, but someone (me) has to say it. I don't like the looks of the Equus. To be more exact, I don't like the "creases" that outline the rear fender and to a lessor extent, the creases that outline the front fender. (just above the wheel wells). Also, the Equus seems to look "bulky" (like a tank), not "Sleek" like the other brands.

I always liked cars that look long and sleek. Our Genesis' don't look long and sleek, but they also don't look bulky like the Equus, so for now, I like the looks of the Genesis better than the Equus. (Understand, I am not talking about the added luxury in the interior of the Equus).

Keep in mind that I have not seen the Equus in person, only in photos, so I could change my mind.

Re: MUST SEE VIDEO! Equus test drive review & Hyundai Korea wants seperate luxury bra

I bought my Genesis because it was everything I expected out of all the premium sports sedans and a much better value. Many of my fiends thought I was nuts trading in the Lexus for a Hyundai...until they took a ride. Face it, these are all very nice cars and the styling is a matter of personal preference, but the value clearly lies in the Equus. I like the design every bit as much as the premium brands, and would clearly prefer the Equus. Now if they were all the same price...then what? I guess that would be the real question here.

Of the 5 photos shown of the 5 cars, I think that the Lexus looks the worst. That Grille is butt-ugly. As far as which is the best looking, I believe it is a toss-up between the MB and the Genesis. I own a Genesis and love it but the MB does have great lines. I have owned several MB's and I got fed up with the service with my last one and would never go back, but they do look good.

Exactly.
not only front grill but also side character line is too monotonous.
Lexus LS looks like a plain mid-size car (like camry, accord).
I like Equus grill and character line. because it looks as "triumph". It screaming like a "I am a special person!"
but not so overstatement design. i feel equus design is more "refined" look than Lexus.

And "Equus" mean is not just horse.
It mean, 'Horse for general returning from a victorious campaign' or something.

Great video. Thank you! So no V6 for America - that's fine. This car is too big for a V6. It just IS. And Korea wants a luxury brand in America.. Since Hyundai USA doesn't want it - I bet they're really considering a sub branded Equus without "Hyundai" badges on it...

This may seem trivial, but I really liked the stylized H symbol of the Equus - if only the Genesis did the same!

I actually think Genesis would be a decent name for the new car brand, not just the vehicle itself. Equus would also fit the bill, but would seem more like a Lexus name copycat.

I do think a new brand would help their luxury sales. At the very least, they should lose the H and use the Equus logo.

Yeah, you see that in my video as well (really short video). It's very cool. I wonder if we'll have that here in America when all is said and done...

Don't worry, Bob. There's not a single car available that EVERYBODY likes. :)

Hmm.. Yeah.. If they were all the same price, I'd take the S550 first.. It's got the most power and content out of all of 'em.. On looks alone, I'd take the Equus as my first choice..

I agree that the Equus should have no Hyundai badges...

Re: MUST SEE VIDEO! Equus test drive review & Hyundai Korea wants seperate luxury bra

I also prefer the lines of the Genesis over the Equus (doesn't have the weird creases, better greenhouse/C pillar and better grille).

However, the Equus does look better live (or in video) than in still photos.

The Lexus 460 looks better than the previous gen 430, since Lexus designers went more w/ a muted BMW look (than Mercedes) - note how the new 7 and the 460 look similar from the side and rear, however, that new grille totally makes the 460 look like a Camry/Avalon.

The new 7 is a big disappointment - bland at the side and rear and just fugly at the front.

The A8 was a nice design when it first came out but needs a little more "pizzaz" (the new A8 design looks promising, but would have liked to have seen Audi do something a little more different).

As for the S Class, a complete snooze.

The front is totally boring w/ those (previous gen) Accord-shaped headlamps and really don't care for the bulbous wheel arches that can also be found on the Mazda 6 (as well as a few other models).

All in all, flagship sedan design has been a big disappoinment this decade.

Re: MUST SEE VIDEO! Equus test drive review & Hyundai Korea wants seperate luxury bra

I went to Rick Case in Davie, FL yesterday to take a look at the Equus. All I can say is, "It is one beeeeautiful car." The salesman that I spoke to said that whatever the list price is, they would be charging more than list price. You can be sure that if I ever get one it won't be at Rick Case.

Then you won't be purchasing in South Florida, I guess. I went to Cocoa Hyundai by accident and walked out w/ mine. I had gone to 3 dealers here in SFL (CocoCreek, King and Napelton) and all wanted $1995 to $4995 (Napelton, what were they smoking?) over sticker. Idiots.

They are smoking the same thing that the dealer in Leesburg (and probably their other dealership in Ocala) is smoking. I was at the Leesburg dealer a couple weeks ago, and they still insist on the $5000. bump up sticker. One salesperson I talked with a couple weeks ago said "oh that don't mean anything, we will deal from that", however my buddy (who posts on this forum) said that when he visited them last month, they would not budge from their bump-up sticker price.
Idiots.

I often say that "you can't buy a car in Lake County". What I mean is dealers, (all the dealers, not just the Hyundai dealer) think that everyone who lives in this county is retired and loaded, and they all don't want to deal. To buy a new car at a reduced price, we have to go to Orlando, and even then, some will not deal, but others will. I purchased my last two Lincolns, one in Orlando and the other in South Orlando. Saved bigtime compared to Leesburg. (Also, my shadow will never again fall on the property of the Lincoln dealer in Longwood, Seminole County, for the way they tried to cheat me, and then got angry with me when I caught them).
