My new 2015 5.0 Genesis (Ultimate package)....initial thoughts

I posted a couple of pics the other day after trading in my 2011 3.8 (with Tech pkg) for a new 2015 5.0 Genesis. I've had the car three days now and have to admit that I love everything about. I was worried about the extra weight of the 5.0 compared to the 3.8, but it handles like a dream. Acceleration is quick. Quicker than I expected with the extra weight. The interior feels bigger, but that could just be the 9.2 inch screen. While the heads up display isn't a necessity, I find myself looking at it as opposed to the speedometer. It also gives you the notifications for lane departure and blind spot right there above the dash

I like the concept of the lane keep assist, but that does take a second to get used to. It forces me to use my blinker for every single lane change, which I assume other drivers appreciate . The panaromic sunroof is a plus (and something I enjoyed in my wife's Santa Fe). And the hands free power trunk is an added plus.

Overall I'm very impressed. More than I actually thought I would be. I loved my 2011, and had no issues with it. This car looks and feels even better. Only downside? If I have to pick one, I'd say that there is SO much in this car. I need to take a day to just sit in it and figure every little thing out. I've attached a couple more pictures including one of my 2011 3.8 next to my new 5.0 at the dealership.

Congrats Albuquerque Genny on the new Genesis. I am also waiting for the 5.0 fully loaded. I'm curious if you have noticed any difference in the downshift lag time from your 2011. I have the 2011 4.6 and have always been annoyed at the lag time it takes to go into a lower gear when accelerating for passing etc. Do you see any improvement? Thanks.

2015's have a new wing design and it's no longer chrome. I wouldn't recommend him to use the older model wings.

The 2015 wings are selling on ebay for about $25, and as noted above, not the same as before. Probably not a good idea to swap from a 2011. Anyone who takes the time to read this forum can figure out how to do it themselves.

Congrats on the fine looking ride. I just popped by my dealer and he had both a white and black V8 awd ultimate, both with black interiors. Will go by tomorrow morning and if the black is not sold she will be mine. Never had a black car before as I was and still am worried about keeping it clean but man this car in black really stands out. The so called black interior is actually charcoal with grey piping which is nicer than black IMHO.

No lag time that I've noticed....but I'm going from a 3.8 2011 to the new 5.0

Dealer will rebadge on Tuesday. Couldn't use the wings off of the 2011 because the 2015 uses a new design/ size on the trunk

Something else that I noticed last night, when unlocking the door with the fob the mirrors turn back out and project this onto the ground (both drive and passenger side)
