  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Genesis R-429 hp

If the 2012 4.6 and 5.0 are released at same time, I will also need to justify the extra bucks for the extra kick. Wife likes the 4.6 because more exterior/interior color choices.

Yeah, I'm not too crazy about the 5.0's "woodgrain-less" steering wheel. However... I'm getting the feeling that the wing sticker would fit nicely with the piano black trim on the console - anyone else see it? I wouldn't have considered the sticker if I were getting the 4.6 - I think the KDM center airbag w/ wing looks much better - but in the case of the 5.0.... I think it would be ok!

As for the wheel caps on the 19's - I'm curious what size those center caps are. You think Hyundai kept them the same size as the 17's? Probably would save on production costs, no?

And yes... I'm customizing a car I don't even own yet. Oo

I contacted KDM about center caps and they thought that they were same size as the 17" wheels. Sure wish I had some feel for MSRP. And...I hope they are willing to discount the 5.0 as they have done with the 4.6.

R spec will likely be a bit of a stiffer ride with less body roll without a doubt. Some may find it too stiff but coming from a BMW, I think I would be comfortable with it.

regarding the wood inlaid steering wheel... I never thought it felt right on the 4.6

It was an early complaint of mine that my 4.6 couldn't be optioned with a full leather wheel like the 3.8.

I never understood the fad of a partial plastic (wood grain) wheel...

I still feel Hyundai is missing some market with limited options.

Example: on the Rspec , I would like to have an option to delete the side chrome markers.... I like the look on my 4.6 but on the 5.0 , it seems a bit too much....

I never liked the leather steering wheel on the 3.8. It felt insubstantial (thin) and slippery. I replaced it with the (pricey) erognomic wood/leather wheel from KAI and have been very happy with it.

I agree with DG Moore, I have a supercharged Buick regal GS (ok, a bit old purchased yr 2000 but a fun car for the money) and the steering wheel is thin and very uncomfortable. One of the first things I am looking for is a fatter steering wheel. I seen the KAI sourced steering wheel that DG has and I hope to get one as well.
