If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just took a few new pics of my Genesis after cleaning it and wanted to share them with the forum. I also added a real short video of Magnaflow exhaust. It's my first attempt at video and I want to eventually add an extended version with take-off. Anyway, enjoy!

Here's the video for those who were interested in hearing the Magnaflow exhaust on the 3.8 V6. Sorry it's so short:

Thanks!! They are 20" Vertini Hennessey wheels and "Yes", my car is lowered at least a couple of inches as well.

Very Nice. Love the wheels.

IMO, it would look better without the GENESIS emblem on the trunk and the GENESIS license plate frame. I prefer the clean look myself - here's mine: http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/album.php?albumid=290&pictureid=1684

Yeah, I had been thinking about removing the Genesis badge but just haven't gotten around to doing it. As for the license plate frame, I also agree but at the time I simply got it to replace the crappy dealer frame that was originally on the car.

Love your car,

I've seen a few rear spoilers posted on this forum, but I love yours the most. Where did you get it?

Your paint finish looks particularly smooth, like glass ... have you been polishing the car with car polishes such as Menzerna? What do you use?

Thanks a lot! The spoiler I have is one that I believe a lot of others have also purchased. It's from CARID.com. Here's the link:

You can have them paint it for you by supplying your paint code found on the inside of your driver's door jamb. The price is just a bit over $200 painted.

Smok'in h...o...t...!!!

Question: How is the ride with the coilovers and the 20's? It looks amazing... I really love the look of a lowered sedan. I currently drive a G37S coupe on 20's with Tanable springs (mild drop) However, I have been comtemplating the Genesis for a more comfortable ride. Decisions...decisions.. ;p

Thanks for compliments! I'm real happy with the ride personally. It's much better to me than it was with 20s and just the stock suspension. If you search for my threads you'll see that I wrote a pretty thorough post on my opinion of them. It all depends on what you expect from a ride.

I missed the second part of your thread. To be honest the glassy look is just a combo of my camera and some exposure adjustments. The lighting was just right as well. I wish it was that glassy and perfect all the time!

Thanks Jastylr.. I will definitely check your previous posts. Pls take care of my car. ;-)

jastylr, great car. Your little video with the MangnaFlow sounds great. Is that the 4.6l exhaust or is there one for the 3.8 that I haven't seen?

How does it sound at normal driving? I heard issues with the drone of it but was thinking it would be very different on the v6 and v8.

Yes, it is the 4.6L exhaust that I had installed on my 3.8. My installer had to make a few minor mods to the pipes but it was a rather simple install otherwise. I decided to have everything welded instead of using the bolt-on clamps that come with the exhaust.

As for the sound, it's great from the rear of the car but there is definitely a lot of drone coming up though the passenger cabin. Or at least there was. It was real bad at first, almost annoying but over time it has certainly gotten much better with the build-up of exhaust carbons and such in the mufflers. I think that I've also just gotten used to it. When you go from almost whisper quiet to an aggressive exhaust note, you're going to notice it and eventually you just ignore it.

The one issue I have always had is the fact that the car wants to immediately shift to the highest gear even when your doing 25mph. When your in a high gear at low speed, you get the bogged down droning until you step on the gas and force the car to shift into a lower gear. One way to combat this is to simply shift the car manually which I have done quite a bit more lately but hey, I got rid of my 6 speed manual tranny sports car so that I wouldn't have to shift anymore so it defeats the point.

Overall, if you want an aggressive sounding exhaust note and don't mind the fact that you're going to hear it all the time inside the car, then go for it, I think you'll be happy. If not, then this isn't the solution for you. My installer did say that Magnaflow makes an X-Pipe muffler that can replace the standard X-Pipe that comes with the exhaust. He says it should really quiet it down, particularly the drone. I just haven't done it because I've come to like the sound, at least for now.

Good Luck!!!

Hmm yea I only want the sound when I get on the throttle. I like the fact that the car is a luxury car just wanted some more umph when I got on it not to sound like a sports car.

Maybe Ill wander over to the local shop and see what they can custom up. High flow cat with a solid xpipe and two mufflers should be hard to come by.

which exhaust tips are those??
is there any way i can get just the tips?

The tips are part of the Magnaflow exhaust kit for the Genesis. I'm not sure if they are a one-off design specifically for the Genesis exhaust or if they are standard tips. I imagine you could find some standard tips on the Magnaflow website that have the same look but the dimensions and stagger may not be correct. You will notice that there is an offset between the two tips on each side that follows the contour of the rear bumper. Perhaps a good exhaust guy could recreate the same offset for you as part of a custom job.

How does it ride? Is the suspension stiffer? Is there any travel left in the suspension?

Looks Good!!!

I've been real happy with the ride but I like it to be firm and controlled. The shocks are adjustable so it can go from soft to firm although soft is still firmer than stock.
