  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Now that "Genesis" is its own brand - how do WE grow from here?

The current Genesis logo is already associated with Hyundai so I'm going to guess that the new logo will be noticeably different.

I like the second generation wings better as well. Plus, they're bigger...

The Canadian press release confirmed it would be the 2015 Wing logo for the new brand

People are placing too much emphasis on the exact design of the logo. It will be wings, no question, but Hyundai has changed the wings before, and they may change them slightly again.

As they have done already with the new wing logo on the Genesis Motors site...

Hyundai seemed to emphasise change to the logo and what we're seeing on that Genesis Motors site, which I believe is a placeholder for the real site, is so little that just about everyone would not notice the difference. Why would they even mention changing the logo? But we'll see soon enough...

Sneak peek of the next evolution ;)

Nah, too old farty and too much like the '15 logo.

The Chrysler wings are HUGE and even more old farty than the G1 logo. The apparent new one is an improvement over the G2 one as well. It's was in their press release and is on the Genesis Motors site, so I'd bet this the new restyled logo they referred to...

G1 - retro/"old farty" (looks fine next to the Chrysler logo):

G2 - more modern/streamlined:

Genesis Motors: - even better:

I want a new age badge that's crazy and sophisticated like a computer generated logo where the wings do a little flapping or something. :p Something that people look and and go, "holy s%$t that's crazy!". :p

holographic - have it move around the car while driving? :D

Well... I don't know about THAT! :p

So people would notice...

Us Genesis fanatics would notice - but that's about it. It's too similar. Remember, many people can't tell the difference between the Chrysler winged badge and the Genesis winged badge. It's just not important enough to most people. Hardly anyone will notice the difference between the two Genesis badges without having them side by side. Even two cars side by side - most people won't notice the difference. I guarantee it...

So what would you all like to see in regards to how we proceed from this point on? The Hyundai Equus will be called Genesis G90. The Hyundai Genesis Sedan will be called Genesis G80. A new midsize model will be named Genesis G70 and the Genesis Coupe will be named Genesis G60.

Should these new models be blended in with the current models or should we separate them? I mean - I'm pretty sure the new G80 is going to be very similar to the Genesis Sedan. No? Maybe a little different? The Equus is supposed to be here next month (new model altogether). Perhaps "Genesis" will be a one brand model until the midcycle refresh of the Genesis Sedan. Or perhaps this new midsizer will launch earlier than we've been suspecting...

In any event - we need to figure out the best way to grow from here. So I hope you'll take a few minutes to share how you envision the Genesis Owners Group moving forward...

Thank you!

If you look at what is happening as the infinite future of the brand, then you've got to set yourself up for future flexibility. In the long run, the segment of brand's historical portfolio will become only a small portion of the site. The 2009-2014 will become a small subset of information and a niche group of users. As will the 2015-whatever the next refresh is. The pie gets bigger, the slices get smaller.

From what I've seen in other places, forum & sub-forum are the way to go. you become Genesis Owners in the sense of the brand, and not the model(s). Genesis forum becomes the generic "off the top" primary heading then >G60, 70,80, 90, and 2009-2015.5 (or whatever year it lands in) Hyundai Genesis as sub-forums to that forum. If they do major stratifying within the models (like BMW's 3 series in both Sedan and Coupe), you can then sub-sub-category within the parent model.

For comparison sake, maybe compare something like Yotatech to 4RunnerForum. They've endured and kept up with several refreshes, new models, re-labeled products (lexus SUVs), and still manage to present the forums in a useable way.

Another place to look for structure ideas would be motorcycle communities. You wanna see a new models/refreshs/old models/name changes nightmare? There's probably more than a few sites who have built a structure that keeps all relevant info organized... or at least, findable?

agree with this format. having spent some years on the motorcycle forums, Land Cruiser and 4runner boards the organization is key. this layout is logical and allows for new models to be introduced without much functional change.

How will the "Genesis" be handled by the dealer network? Is this a separate dealer like Infiniti and Lexus? Or just a separate corner of the dealership? Now, the big question. Does this mean we will be able to get one in a color other than gray?

For the foreseeable future, the Genesis brand (current Genesis and Equus) will be sold at existing Hyundai dealers, but maybe not all dealers (not sure yet).

Not sure what you are talking about with regard to the Genesis only available in gray. Check the Hyundai website for the color options.
