  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Official 0-60 & 1/4 mile thread

Watching times drop is a bit addicting. You have one of the best tracks in the nation to run at as well. If not the best one. You will have a huge advantage with da so your car should be very very quick with just the tune one map 2

I know your car would be killing it if you were down here.

I’m sure it would. I’m hoping a track in Cali opens soon or at least a private rental that I could jump on.

Do you guys know how rough doing the parking brake launch that Slip does is on the system?

I don't want to melt the brakes. I've only done it three times at this point.

Although did find out you can brake boost and it's effective from a 35-40 roll. Pretty hard snap back, but it's a bit finicky and it can also just bog down.

I don’t think it would be to bad on the brake system itself. I think my launch method is much much more demanding on The system

The brakes should be able to handle the brake snip just fine. The parking brake, however, i think uses shoes on the inside of the rotor's hat in the rears. I really don't know how much torque those things can handle....which is part of the reason why I have been hesitant to try the e-brake method. Even so, @Slip_Angle is having excellent success with it, along with several Stinger owners! That said, even the parking brake system has got to be pretty good.

The Brembos, though, can handle whatever you throw at them.

@FornicatorSteve - how are you brake boosting from a roll...?

Yeah, it builds some boost and then I let it go pretty quick. Brakes don't move, so there can't be any wear.

Mine seems to move when rolling into it, then catch, then it doesn't move. I just didn't want to disintegrate the brakes, but until the brake snip mod can be done through the JB4 and not physical cutting, I'll shy away from that.

I've definitely gotta bring in mine for the brake deposit issue, and the feeling of "warped" pads. After doing some rolls and coming down from 100 it's just shuddering like mad.

As far as the brake boosting from a roll, I didn't think it mattered on the G70 due to how low it builds boost and has peak torque. I also didn't think it was possible since some of the stinger guys I had run with said it wasn't.

As far as that goes, sport mode tc off and such, select the gear, roll over the speed you want, touch the brakes enough for the light to come on, then back on the gas a bit, roll into the brakes more to get the exact speed, harder on the gas to build boost, and then off the brake and you will launch at peak boost.

That second or so delay before the car catches up to what you want it to do is eliminated and honestly it's violent.

I had my friend with the GTI play with it since that's how he gets good 35 and 50 rolls with his, and after a lot of trial and error it worked. Having 3 guys in the car, it honestly launched harder from a roll than just me without brake boosting.

Last night our local TV news reported that two men were arrested and cars towed for drag racing on the street. Speeds over 125 mph.
The cars were a Mustang and Audi. They reported all this information but did not say who won!. Totally irresponsible reporting to leave out the most important details.

OK, I have an update. I just saw some video on the news and when they passed the state cop the Audi was a few lengths ahead. They also showed the two drivers, handcuffed, in the back of the cruiser laughing.

Shows over folks. Let's try to keep this to 0-60 and legit 1/4 mile times. :)

I'm excited! I believe I'm going to OSW tomorrow or some point this week!

I'm gonna try a run on map 4 for giggles. But I'd love to get some baselines on map 0 and map 2 and then see how much the intake and FMIC help.

Also looking at some wheels that are about 19.5 pounds each in bronze, I think it may go well with the bronze in the headlights. I'm thinking of wrapping the dark chrome in a satin bronze to match.

I'll definitely post the slips!

Nice - I think all of that sounds awesome. Looking forward to your results!

Are you going to be using something to boost octane for map 4?

93 on map 4 for half the boost in valet mode. Get the "most improved" sticker.

So far I had two runs, tried the parking brake but it slipped and triggered me "going" so that was a 13.1.

Normal launch control on map 2 is 12.8 at 110.

Oh are you still on the older firmware?
